    Just a heads up:
The amazon price for the RotK CR has dropped to $59.99 US

Oh, and Barnes and Noble have finally listed the set too with a similar price.

Its $53.98 with a members card at B&N (So glad my mom has one), so I will be going there next saturday to pre-order it and find a way to make sure its there the day its released.

I'm wondering if any of my local brick-n-mortar stores will even stock it. Last year, no one had TTT:CR, which I didn't determine until release day, and in a fit of insanity, I had it next-day-aired from Amazon. That only cost me $15 extra.... I'd rather not have to repeat that experience, needless to say. I just want to have it ASAP w/o taking out a second mortgage to do so.

So it looks the price is down to an average of about $12 per disc, and I have to say that's not bad at all. I was fully prepared to pay more than $60 for this set!

I suppose that leaves me with a few extra dollars to set aside for Doug's book...

$60 in the MovieMusic Store. All of you who've pre-ordered already, your price will be the new low price.

    Spread the word, thanks!

If I remember correctly, last year people who ordered the TT set off this site got it on or before the release date. Will this hopefully happen this year as well?

Where will these orders ship from? I am located in California and I'm wondering how long it would take for the package to arrive.

If you want it one business day after the order is shipped, you select 1 day shipping. If you want it 2 or 3 business days after shipping, select Priority shipping. If 5 or 6 days for delivery sounds about right, select standard shipping. It doesn't matter where the order ships from - the delivery method you select determines when the package arrives. I hope that's clear enough!

If all goes well, the orders should ship on the Friday before the Tuesday release date. Ordering via Priority, 2nd Day or Next Day will likely get the parcel to you by the release date.

well I just ordered it through MM

    Feels real now!

I didn't see next day shipping so I picked priority, hopefully that gets it to me by the release date

So if you plan on ordering from Barnes and Noble here's the deal with them. The only way you can order from them is home delievery. You have to pay for the item at the store and they will send it to your house, some places have the option of pre-orders being sent to the store, but as stated they will only send the item to your house only. They say that they will not have in store sales like they did for TTT (atleast for now, unless something changes).

So in light of this concept I will be pre-ordering mine more than likely from MM. If only the 1 day shipping didn't cost $16.99. Im what someone would call NOT Bill Gates.

I was intending to do what I did last year - call B&N about 3 weeks in advance and reserve a copy so I can pick it up at my local B&N on release date - but in light of your explanation of shipping and estimated arrival times, I'd much rather give you my business (of course).

So, you've convinced me, Peter! I'll order it from you.

    * And I *might* have to be a sucker and go with 1 day shipping.

EDIT: But why am I getting no option for 2nd Day or Next Day shipping??

Thank you for your response--I was just checking because, for example, regular UPS Ground from New York gets a package to me in six days, but regular UPS Ground from California gets to me overnight (at the cheaper rate) since it's so close to begin with.

Although I hesitate to bring up the subject, TORn has posted a heads up on a big article in Entertainment Weekly re: The Hobbit movie.
    http://www.theonering.net/perl/newsview/1/1191522077

They also reported that NewLine is agreeing to pay a fine ordered in regards to Jackson's lawsuit against them.
    http://www.theonering.net/perl/newsview/1/1191521209
Now, keep in mind what PJ was asking was for them to open their books. They haven't done that yet, they're just paying a fine (rather than contesting it) in regards to not cooperating with matters.

Crippled, delivery to Canada is the most impossible estimate to make. Sometimes things are delivered quickly, like within a week, and sometimes it can take three whole weeks. The customs office in Canada is so random that it makes it very difficult to estimate. I'd be safe and say two weeks to Canada.

    PK

Thanks for the orders! This is a great deal.

So, BattleToTheEnd, I can't help but wonder what's the point of setting a release date if the store won't have it on that day? I was planning on checking with B&N, but I suppose I'll reconsider. Does anyone know of a chain store that will have it in on the day it's released, or is next-day shipping (arrival on the 7th) the best I can hope for?

Edit: Oh yeah, those last few notes in the podcast! That was in the LotR Trilogy Trailer, and I couldn't figure out where it came from! Woo...

Alls I know is that B&N is making it much more difficult (in someways) than it has to be (unlike last year with TTT). Even if you were to pre-order (which is online only)one of the employees there said that they sit on it and won't do anything with it until or after the release date and that means they won't ship until those days. And I have not heard of anywhere that will have ROTK in store on release date.

    Summary:
Im going to order from MM

    Aaaaaa-ha!

There's one part of LOTR music I could never place, and that is the one featured in the LOTR supertrailer for mere seconds.
Turns out, it's the unused ending for the Nature Reclamation theme when the Rohirrim leave Edoras!

I have a question on my mind, but I'm not sure yet how to articulate it, since it's a bit ...unspecific. But we'll see, we'll see.

That's just sad. We have these big super mega chain stores and none of them can even stock the set on its release date. Maybe capitalism doesn't work after all...

Maybe if it said "Music by Howard Shore and Fifty Cent," they'd stock it on time... in fact, I'm sure they would.

    Hey everyone,

Just a quick heads up to fans in Ireland and UK - the CR hasn't surfaced on any of the sites I've checked so far (incl. Amazon, play, 101cd, and virgin).

Judging by the $10 to $20 price difference between Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk for the previous CR's, I'm expecting the worst.

Yeah, I know I'm an idealist, but they should just do everything by the book, get all the products in stock and available to the consumer on the official release date, rather than catering to the popular music masses... ah, I'm living in a fantasy world.

    $1.13...

That's how much ROTK:CR cost for me today. Saved $12.75 with the 10% member discount and the $50 worth of gift cards at B&N. Unfortunately it is home delivery as noted by others, I would have much rather opted for in-store pickup since it is right down the street from my work. We'll see if I can resist the temptation if it doesn't get delivered by release day.

I imagine I'll order it somewhere online, but on November 6th I'll still be driving around looking for it at the stores.

I seem to remember that the price on Amazon went down a bit once it was released. Because I had pre-ordered it, then canceled my pre-order, then placed the order again the day it was released, and I ended up paying less the second time.
