If BSX thinks they are an ethical company, check out this blasphemy:I have tons of people on a waiting list for THE WEDDING DATE soundtrack, released on BSX Records. When trying to order product from BSX as a retailer, I am denied because no copies of the limited edition are available any longer. I should have known this, as the BSX email I get (which I don't remember ever signing up for) had that "less then [sic] 50 copies left" countdown many months ago.
But what yet appears on eBay, most recently selling for more than $100? THE WEDDING DATE. And again, another copy on eBay right now headed that way. Who's the seller? Take a wiiiilllddd guess.
Methinks Intrada would be grilled if they ever put a copy of INCHON up on eBay.
The whole BSX thing is shameful, right from the misspelling of the company name. Thanks for spreading the word Dana...

And someone needs to clue in the "MRAUDIO" guy in the FSM thread that Dana linked to that there are other places besides Intrada and SAE!Maybe I shouldn't be suprised this place isn't so well known by the hardcore collector crazies... not a dime or single forum posting in any other forum on the net has been spent on marketing this place... and maybe you guys like it that way, otherwise I'd sell out of the damn Inchons of the world that much faster!

Jeeze, it doesn't stop. Out of interest, I just now checked to see if Buysoundtrax still lists on eBay the limited edition LETHAL WEAPON CD that went out of print maybe two years ago. BSX was the official "distributor" of the CD... and in my last request for product (at least a year ago, I have a big line up for this one too), I was told they had no more copies left. Sure enough, another LETHAL WEAPON auction by Buysoundtrax just ended yesterday. These guys are such a fraud.

Peter,I've mentioned your site in a similar thread elsewhere awhile back.
I've also recommended your site to a couple other people.
You know where my loyalties lie.

James, thank you.... and to everyone else who's genuinely interested in good service, good prices and favorable ethics (at least I think they are good... I could be getting it all wrong just like... um, ok done for tonight).

Thanks for posting that info Peter. It is really sad to see people on FSM backing up BSX. I bet you neither one of those f***tards would be backing them up if they got screwed royally by BSX. *rolls his eyes* They (BSX) do sound like scammers almost don't they Peter?

Also why in thell did they spell it "Buysoundtrax"? Couldn't they have properly spelt it to "Buysoundtracks"? *rolls his eyes*Edit: Peter check out BSX's lame ass response on FSM http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.asp?threadID=36842&forumID=1
Double Edit: It's amazing to that you have to pay double mark up prices from BSX and have to wait 1-4 weeks to get your CD's. That's an outragous waiting period time. Hell places like Varése, Intrada, FSM and even you Peter don't take THAT long.

People are supporting BSX over this? Oh my Guinness, I really am done for tonight. Maybe FSM readers need to see this thread, as it sounds like they aren't seeing very much of the picture....

I think they've been pointed to this thread all ready... I just think a lot of those people on FSM really don't care.

This is part of the reply from Buysoundtrax on the FSM board that had me howling for quite a long time:

By: buysoundtrax (Member)Hello,
In fairness to everyone involved this is copy of the email we sent this JERON from us, it contains the post from musicmusic.com that was brought to our attention regarding this sale that hasn't appeared in either thread about this topic.
"This Jeron"?! Is he real? Or is he some type of imaginary creature in Shyamalan's latest opus? You'd think they'd at least have the respect to treat their "valued" customers as actual, intelligent human beings (or maybe even corpses).

Actually BigT I don't really see any support for BSX in that thread at FSM... it's all pretty much in agreement with the facts of the situation as presented here. Dana's representing well.LOL... nuts... yeah, I wondered about that. But tried to just give BSX_employee_?? the benefit of the doubt. I did however stop for a moment when reading to check and see if I was actually still here... sitting in my chair.

You, Soundtrackers/Gerry, and sometimes Amazon are virtually the only places I purchase scores. Thanks to you guys, I was able to get An Unfinished Life (from Peter) and Inchon (from Gerry) at retail pricing AND with superb service.
I haven't dealt with BSX much (although I did buy On Deadly Ground for $2 from them which was nice). I will say, though, that I don't like what I'm reading. Their tactics, while legal, are just plain... bad for business.
What they're doing is going to hurt them in the long haul. People desperately seeking out Inchon may put down $100 to get it, but they'll never come back. This is supposed to be BSX's opportunity to attract clients and convert them into life-long buyers. There's no better investment and they blew it. And, not to mention the bad publicity!
And by the way, Peter, I've seen BSX list Lethal Weapon once a week at times. I had to settle for a CD-R copy since I'm not going to shell out $100+.

In fairness, my one dealing with BSX went smoothly and was shipped promptly. But you can't help but wonder about the numerous negative feedback that BSX receives at Amazon and Ebay.

I just checked their ebay feedback, they have 71 negatives, 3 of them were in the past month and 14 of them were in the past 6 months. Damn...

This is too funny. I'm reading the negative responses on ebay that were given to BSX. A lot of them were "glitch in computer system" or some stupid crap like that... must have been a lot of glitches. Here is one though that is a real kicker and the buyers response.

BSX:
Problem with Paypal download, payment wasn't received, sorryBuyer Reponse:
Wow. Blaming Paypal when I mailed a money order. Nice. I still have the stub.

The only time I remember purchasing from BSX was a copy of LONESOME DOVE via an Ebay auction ... I think it was the second purchase online that I'd ever made, and I remember seeing the same title in this store a week later cheaper... deciding then that looking around before buying was a sensible way to purchase in future. Most of the time now, I either purchase from Peter's store, from a couple of Australian retail outlets, from people who sell cheaply on ebay, and occasionally from SAE (the Elmer boxset, the FSM online, etc), Intrada and Footlight (when price is not an issue!), depending on title availability and their special offers (such as the Towering Inferno and Broughton Blowout offers). But this is the only store whose proprietor holds things for me (and discusses interesting films in email!), and that kind of service alone is worth its weight it gold.

It's as if they want people to hate them. If I understand correctly, they deliberately made a fuss, and then talked their way out of the order (that would have probably made them a neat profit).I haven't read the full topic yet, so I don't know if anyone said this already, but is it possible they sold out of INCHON CDs, but didn't take it off the site in time, and needed to cancel a few of the orders?

BSX might have drummed up a few thousand bucks in quick sales but their long-term revenue may suffer due to the negative goodwill that seems to constantly emanate from that place. Then again, some people seem to have much shorter memories than I do. I generally hate to hold grudges on people, but for businesses it's pretty easy for me to do.I'd hate to see what some of these "free market rules all" folks would have to say about healthcare/insurance costs today.

I've never heard of this company until I started reading this thread. It reminds me of the time a while back when I was looking for the Varese Sarabande version of the Conan the Barbarian. It was out of print and the only available copies that I could find were either on amazon.com - for over $100.00, which I was not about to pay. I don't remember who the seller was.Now I wonder if it might have been them.

Well, the wait is finally over. Today, I received word from an online U.K. retailer that copies of INCHON have arrived. My copy was dispatched today, and they certainly weren't charging the extortionate amount that BSX wanted.[Message edited by shado1999 on 10-03-2006]

I see a copy of the INCHON CD sold for $202.50 on EBay. The winning bid? None other than Buysoundtrax. What are they up to??posted 10-30-2006 03:42 PM PT (US) Alwin

Wow, an admission of guilt if I ever saw one. BSX must feel bad for all the wrongdoing (it seems everyone knows how to do better business than they), so they publically order an expensive copy... a veiled attempt at damage control. Whatever. What else would I have said? My position pegs me.
