I was curious to know if anyone else had picked up the cd for the BBC series, Planet Earth, that came out recently? The music is really beautiful. I loved the series but I love the music even more. Anyone else?Byron

I LOVED what I heard in the series. Hope to pick it up sometime soon, and bask in the 2-CD goodness. Had to jump on some limited editions though which kept me from getting this right now...NP - Thad Jones/Mel Lewis - Us

Nah, this is a great soundtrack, but without the video it's not that exciting, i'm not getting it.

And how would you know how exciting it was without the video since you don't have it?To the original poster, we've discussed this title a little bit here:

He tried playing the series with the TV off and the speakers on. Not that exciting because some damn narrator kept talking over it!!
Really, though, we have no reason to suggest quality movie music is dead with Fenton's work on this series.

It's nice, but I'm afraid I found it mostly unremarkable. Unlike the adorable music for Blue Planet/Deep Blue.

come on, you know that the narrator doesn't spoil the soundtrack experience as much as it's in the regular blockbuster movie, so there is enough food for your ears to make an opinion. And yes, I did try to listen to without the video part!
