I didn't see it mentioned here so I thought I would bring up that Gregory Peck passed away early this Thursday morning. Calling him a great actor is an understatement. New words should be constructed to describe his talents. He has played so many great roles... The father we always wanted to have in To Kill A Mockingbird, the general we would follow anywhere in MacArthur and even a turn as one of the most sinister men of the Second World War, Joseph Mengele. I take comfort in knowing that he wasn't in any pain and passed on in his sleep. He lived a long life and we got to share some of it with him. God bless Gregory Peck.

Goodnight Mr.Peck, you will be missed.

    It's not a who-can-sound-the-death-knell-first contest, Kevin.

Never met Peck, always wanted to. To say that I enjoy his work would be an understatement, but enjoy them, I do. It's the man's commitment to social causes I admired, though.

I also think of BIG COUNTRY when I think of Gregory Peck with its brilliant score by Jerome Moross.

And what are your thoughts on Hitchcock's "Spellbound"? The scene with Bergman and Peck kissing and doors opening, scored by the great Miklós Rózsa, is really unforgettable!

We won't forget you, Mr. Peck...

(Have a good week-end, moviemusic lovers!)
