Hans Zimmer's doing the music, so does anyone know who's releasing this score?

I'm hoping Dan says something like...Decca!

    Thanks

Actually, I'm just not answering questions like that anymore, even if I might know the answer, because of attitudes like yours. Hence my lack of a response on the Don Davis ANIMATRIX post.

Hey Dan, can you please answer the question (if you know the answer, of course)? I wasn't the one who made the comment, I was the one hoping you knew who was releasing the score; you're very informative, and seem to know this kinda stuff before everyone else.

    Thanks,

    Dan,

If I have offended you in anyway with the post I started regarding the Animatrix post, I certainly had no intention of doing so. While I can't speak for anyone else who responded, My post was intended solely to gain information, and it didn't become that.

I repsect your wishes, and should you need to e-mail me privately for further discussion, please feel free to do so. I am truly sorry if any undue incovenience to you has occurred. I can easily understand why you won't be responding, and harbor no ill will towards that rationale.

I hope in the future other posts won't turn out like this, as far as you and I are concerned.

    Chris,

At no point, and in no way, have you offended me. (Your apology is unnecessary, but well intentioned.)

But sadly, the attitudes and actions of some others on this board have the negative effect of ruining it for the rest.

    Holy **** ! It's the attitude police!

Let's be a little less sensitive. Chin up, throw us against the wall and shackle our brains out if you're gonna play this game. Otherwise, this is pathetic. The only way to get the attitudes healthy around here is to keep your own packed away. Otherwise, it makes the situation worse, which is truly the sad part.

Of course, I will be called to the mat for showing some attitude here. Sue me. It's my place.

Excellent. I hope this means people will not let attitudes get in the way of participating, as was sorta mentioned up there. That's just retarded. Everyone has attitude. If all of us want to stop posting because attitude exists, let me know and I'll close the board.

Can I just say the film looks pretty dreadful? I really enjoyed Training Day, but this one looks like an absolute mess... The first trailer I saw was a whopping 2 minutes or something with a piece from Zimmer's Gladiator (The Might of Rome), and even the strong crescendo of action it provided couldn't save the movie from looking inept... Then I saw the trailer with POD in the background; don't get me started

Still, I am looking forward to Zimmer's score, because it's been a while since I've heard a new one from him.

Well... lets hope that the score is in the same vein as Spirit, which harkened back to scores like Days of Thunder and his earlier work. I did enjoy Zimmer's Black Hawk Down, but it was a bit minimalistic for my liking. I want to desperately hear old school Zimmer for this film, I want to hear aspects of The Rock and Drop Zone maybe even with a hint of The Thin Red Line. I know I'll get bashed for this, I could care less, Always have been a HUGE Zimmer fan, always will be, no matter how similar some of his stuff does sound.

    Beyond rangoon,black rain,days of thunder,etc...

    In www.filmtracks.com forum Mr.E says:

    Directly from Varese Sarabande's website:

"Hans Zimmer’s score for Tears of the Sun is one of his finest. Zimmer takes a musical journey back to the Dark Continent, re-exploring a territory he first visited in his Academy Award-winning score for The Lion King, which sold over 7 million copies! Another performer reuniting with Zimmer for this remarkable score is singer Lebo M. Zimmer has created a breathtaking (and nearly nine-minute!) end title song thrillingly performed by Lebo along with a full orchestra, choir, and massive percussion section. Also featured throughout the score — along with Lebo — is Lisa Gerard, who performed the haunting vocal colorings on Zimmer’s enormously successful score for Gladiator. Further magic is supplied by the famous harpist Andreas Vollenweider.

This score is destined to become another of Zimmer’s best-selling soundtracks. It’s an exotic and haunting score that rises to a powerfully emotional, rhythmic finale of truly immense proportions."

    True??? or false???

Chill man :-) It's Varese, I think a 50min release from them is wishful thinking...maybe a 35-40min disc, but we'll see. Of course, I don't where the score was recorded...so...

    My real predictions:
    -46 minuts score release
-Aditional music By Steve jablonsky and lebo M(uncredited :P )
-Aditional arrengements By jim Dooley and Geoff zanelli.
-Ambient music design by Mel wesson.
-No more of 9 minuts of action music.
    -transcendental African music,without Zimmer's touch.
    -No really great tune.

    Your thoughts???

mmmmm, I haven't really heard this sound from Hans, though the sparse "melody" seems to have some resonance of TRL..... The synth ambience with miscellaneou selectronic sounds seems to suggest a different kind of jungle. The drums are something new too. Kinda like taiko, though not as deep.

Yes.But in the last years anything from zimmer sounds like Zimmer.Maybe because the arrangements are from other composers.
In this case, the synth ,percussion and melody is near to Zimmer Styte.
I hope great things from this new work.
