I don't know how reliable this is, but I sure hope it's genuine - reportedly, there'll be a limited version of the TTT soundtrack album, with a special booklet and "leatherette packaging" (like FOTR's I suppose) AND a bonus CD containing a "Lost Lothlorien Suite" plus tracks from the expanded FOTR score!

In fact, we were discussing that fact last night while oogling over the upcoming LOTR:SE. We figure it will go like this...*
November 2002 - Two Towers CD
August 2003 - Two Towers 2-disc DVD
November 2003 - Two Towers 4-Disc DVD
November 2003 - Return of the King CD
August 2004 - Return of the King 2-disc DVD
November 2004 - Return of the King 4-disc DVD
December 2005 - LOTR 16-disc DVD
December 2005 - LOTR 10-disc CD*And still no sign of Star Wars on DVD

Why, because they have to recut and rescore for the expanded extended editions, of course! And filming the Bombadil scenes will take some time, too.

LOL!
Nah, I think Jackson's gonna put it to bed only once.

But then I forgot by that time, Peter Jackson will have been talked into doing The Hobbit so we'll have to have all those CD's and DVD's, so that will extend the time more. And of course if he does the Silmarillion...

Well, I'm sure that Jackson wants to do other projects. I read he said he wanted to do a low-budget zombie flick (probably to "relax"... lol) after LOTR.... and then I'm sure he will renew his KING KONG project, since that one will certainly get the green light given the success of LOTR.Dan

Oh... re: TTT.I know that they're doing a regular release, and a limited release (ala last year). But I don't recall hearing anything about a 2-disc release...... and i'd trust my sources over the OneRing.net's sources.
But we'll see.....

Indeed, sounds somewhat too good to be true. I'd like to wait and see for info from a stronger source.Over the years I've learnt not to get too excited over something until it's in my posession. Be very nice if true of course...

Oooh, that's actually quite close to the release date of the film. Wasn't FOTR available like almost a month before the film? I remember having a real trouble not buying it & listening in before I saw the film. This should make that a bit easier.

Bri, I had heard that, but I also heard dates in November. I am just looking for the right date.
And Pete, yeah, "Fellowship..." came out November 20th last year. I remember picking it up before Thanksgiving.

Maybe someone should e-mail Reprise Records...Hey Dan, what does your "source" say

::wink, wink::
Yeah, "Fellowship" coming out early was great. I was in Baton Rouge, LA at the time for Thanksgiving and after the first spin of the disc I took off my headphones and said "There's the best score of 2001."

He already has!
It can be heard in the first track on the FOTR album, for example. In the film, when we see Gollum sitting on his rock in the Misty Mountains. Later when he's tortured by Sauron, and also when Bilbo wants to keep the Ring.NP: First Knight expanded (Jerry Goldsmith)

As I just posted here (cause misinformation pisses me off), the Limited Edition release of the score will be ONE CD, and contain a 5-minute "Lost Lothlorien Suite" from the FOTR SE-DVD.No other extras.

Look, I only know what I'm told by my WB Records contact, and honestly, I'll trust him over something "the Hairless Pukel-Boy" could have easily just written up based on the earlier TTT post on TheOneRing.net. I mean, he even included the rumor about more music from the FOTR:SE.... and everything I know says that ain't happening.
Gimme 5 minutes, and I can write up a "sell sheet" with hackneyed data and make it sound convincing......

Well, Mr. Pukel-Boy has either very special insider information or way too much time at his hands: TTT Sell Sheet?I guess it's supposed to be a scan, but it looks too exact to me (the horizontal lines on the sheet are parallel to the horizontal lines of the website.
