I finally rented the DVD today. Glad to finally see the trolls, and that bit about Boromir looking at the floor when he says he can't see hope is (if intentional) a nice touch.

Loved the TTT preview, but was dissappointed that many of the great TV spots are missing, most notably the ones focusing on the individual characters. The original internet preview for the whole trilogy was also notably absent.
Any idea if any of these are gonna be on the 4 disc version?

No idea. But I hope the SE will have a real trailer for TTT. The preview is great and all, but a trailer is just more coherent, and a work of art in its own right.

Yeah, I thought it was a bit odd that they didn't include the preview that was with the reissue, if nothing else. I'm sure that 10-min thing had less footage from the film itself than that preview did... Ah well. Only a couple of months to wait.

They officially said that this preview was made exclusively for the "loyal fans" who went back to see the movie countless of times, and that it will never be released in any other form.

Which is said, because while I love the regular trailer, Ian McKellen's voiceover in that special thingy was fantastic.

I never figured out why all the main cast are listed as 'starring' but then at the end of the list there are Sean Bean and Ian Holm listed as 'featuring'. Any ideas what's different with these two?

Possibly because they're not going to be in all three films?

Very probably. What I do find annyoing is that Liv Tyler's is the second name in the credits...

That's weird. I hadn't noticed that. Because it's not a huge part (in the books certainly), & it can't be an alphabet thing... Hmmmmm.

No, it must be a name/power/publicity thing. I mean, she's great for the role, but she shouldn't have her at #2.

I'm glad someone else noticed that Bill is inconsistent... he is the amazing disappearing pony. When the birds fly by the mountainside, where is he?
