Oh, and Chris, I wuv you too (she says very carefully, in the sincere attempt to avoid any further harm, now that I hope I know you a little better) if that's o'tay (okay) with you.
That "o'tay" was yet another (now obviously) obscure Little Rascals reference,
If you no longer have hard feelings towards me, can we be friends again? I'd like that very much.
Oh, and Joan...we're still waiting for that last word

Hi Chris, it's me Galina, again...I just read through your profile (very nice photo, by the way), and I'm amazed! You're 47 and you live in the USA and you don't know anything about THE LITTLE RASCALS?!?! Wow! You live a sheltered life, my friend
Are you from another country such as myself? I have only been in the states for (almost)5 years, came from a non-English-speaking society and even I know about the Rascals!!!LOL!
Just a little friendly jabbing, I hope you don't mind...I also see by your profile that you are probably much too busy to watch some ancient children's series that is even older than you (again
) so if you're a native-American, I guess you never caught them in syndication. Oh, well.
I'm going to work on my profile now, since I didn't know we could make it as extensive as you have yours (I thought we could only do that at FSM...see, I'm wrong again
).
Yes, Marian, we are mad and loving it, LOL!

"If you no longer have hard feelings towards me"Kimiakane..."hard feelings" do not exist in my personal vocabulary, so please relax and feel at ease with me.
The only hate that I experience is the hatred of human suffering.
I have absolutely no hate in me toward other people, no matter the differences between us.

See, I've really got those smilies down now, are you proud of me? I hope your birthday was the happiest. Oh, and are you sure we have "differences" at all? I'll bet we don't have as many as you think, if any at all. Well...gender, age, job positions, place of birth, different colleges, favorite scores, things along that line...that's what you meant by differences, right, Chris?
The quote you replied to made reference to me hoping you had no hard feelings, I've never said you hated anyone, except in jest-reference by using an old children's movie serial (obviously now-obscure). Here's another borrowed reference...Don't Worry, Be Happy! AAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNND.......

Kimiakane, let's try to talk about something that might get Joan back in here...Do you like WESTERNS???
My very favorite western scores are Jerome Moross's for The Big Country and The Valley Of Gwangi.
That's not to say that I don't like Elmer Bernstein's many cowboy film scores...GO, KIMIAKANE!

Hi, Chris! You know something...actually I LOVE Westerns, or at least I thought I did. As I sit here thinking about it, I don't think I have one single western score. I have TELEVISION'S GREATEST HITS VOLUMES 1 to 7 which has ton's of western tv themes. I have a generic CD called "THE GREATEST WESTERN THEMES" by generic bands that sound like they could be high school bands (it was on $1.99 at Meijers). But that is it! How can I really consider myself a fan of westerns if I have no score's? I don't even have any Clint Eastwood or John Wayne western score CDs. I am so ashamed.
(Do you think that will prompt a last word from Joan, CK?)
Speaking of CK...that's also the initials of Clark Kent!!! Has anyone been watching SMALLVILLE? It's wonderful! Too bad it's on the same time as ROSWELL (thank God for VCRs)! So, Chris, do you have any super powers you care to talk about? Hmmmmmmmm?

Coming back to the "Adam and Eve" topic, I heard a joke recently that Joan and/or Cine-Sin might appreciate."Contrary to popular belief, Woman (Eve) was actually created first by God, before he built man (Adam). After several attempts at creating and recreating the female form, finally Eve was able to say to God that she was happy with what she had been given. One thing she asked God though was "Do I really need three breasts?" God thought about it, and decided Eve was right. Two breasts would be sufficient and so he made the final changes to complete his triumphant design. Days passed by and one particular day God saw Eve and asked her "How are you coping with your new body?" Eve replied
"Everything's fine, but I'm lonely and need a companion!!" God said to Eve "Leave it with me and I'll see what I can come up with" Eventually, after days and days of struggling to come up with something and not succeeding, in a last desperate and exasperating effort to make something, God took the "Useless Tit" that he'd thrown into the bush and made a Man out of it!!

Hey Joan, I noticed in your profile that you're a University Supervisor. They're a nuisance aren't they, those Universities? The minute your backs turned, they're off, doing their own thing and dissappearing, without any consideration at all for who they're with. Dont you agree?

Re: my job.For many years I was a high school teacher and counselor and then an
assistant principal and head principal of a large high school. Then I retired.
(Statistics show that there is a significant correlation between high school
principals and heart attacks, so staying forever didn’t seem like a great
idea.) Anyway, all my life I’ve been connected to teens and teachers,
my very favorite people. I now contract with several universities in this
state to supervise student teachers. I’m assigned X number of student
teachers each semester who student teach in elementary, middle, and
high schools. They have a tough job. I do all the observations of them,
teach them how to teach and survive shark teens who see student teachers
as chum, work with their master teachers, and do all the recommendations
and paperwork for various universities.I also will contract with school districts to work with teachers who are on
probation and close to being fired and to teach curriculum courses. And it is part time so I can pursue my interest in film music.

Hey Chris, I like "BETTER!"

I wish I had something to contribute to this thread, you guys are so cool!
It's great to have such elegant ladies like Joan, Kiamikane, and Cine-sin contributing their humor and opinions here (and at FSM's board, too!). I can't stand an all-guys club; we gotta have the female perspective for balance.Hey, Chris Kisinger, I just realized I've met you before! It was at a concert Goldsmith conducted in New York, during October 1998, at Carnegie Hall with the NY Film-harmonic. I was there with my friend Todd. We waited around in the bar/lounge area before it started and you were with two other people (I think) and offered to snap a picture of my friend Todd and I. We chatted for a few minutes, ruminating on possible ways to get Goldsmith's autograph (which we did not). Did you get him to sign anything? Do you remember this event at all?

WOOF!
I do indeed recall talking to you two gentlemen in the lounge. I was there with my wife Bonita and friend Mike Grabauskas. Sadly, there wasn't any opportunity to get an autograph, although I did get to speak to Mr. Goldsmith, albeit in a most unorthodox way. I wrote all about it at the FSM site. You can read my account by clicking on "Film Score Daily", then on October 1998, and then October 8 "The Day I Spoke To Jerry Goldsmith".What caused you to remember me just now?

Well, to be honest, I did remember this incident earlier, but I just never found the right thread in which to mention it. And I vaguely remember feeling jealous upon reading your account in FSM. I think Todd and I should've stuck by you after the concert! It was fun to attend that concert and be able to talk to a random stranger and not seem weird. Of course, I say the same thing when I mention attending Trek conventions.
