While Andre will tend to disagree more often than not...I am somewhat fond of the main theme. I have watched the film a couple times on DVD, and my opinion has approved.

However, I still have to skip through the micro-meteor whatever strike...the music ruins what could have been a great scene. Because of this, I still cannot hold the score in even my top 10 for last year. A score must first and foremost mesh and enhance the scene. The organ piece accomplished quite the opposite.

    Overall though...a good effort.

I enjoyed the film of Mission To Mars, though it's not really very good. To my mind, the music didn't fit at all.

I love the CD. On it's own, it's a terrific score.

And that's exactly what Morricone's music did for the movie.

Now imagine what MISSION TO MARS would be without that outstanding score? (Watch RED PLANET and you'll have one idea of how a really bad score can indeed help to sink an already lame movie ...)

BTW, this is just my humble (or modest?) opinion.

But judging by the kind of people that agree with me on this one, I can say that I am in quite good company!

    Cheers!

But of course you are...then again, anyone who disagrees with you must invariably be a moron.

Still a fair to good score though.

None of your statements are correct I am afraid.

But it's just your opinion. Quite harmless if you ask me. So it is ok for you to keep posting them.

    Thanks.
