I will throw my three cents in too.

Ilike all three of the first three films scores. The fourth, like the film, a disappointment.

I like the Motorcycle Scherzo a lot from Crusade and the Knight music also the action music in the speedboats in the harbor from that film also.

I like the Temple of Doom score a lot too esp the march and Ilike the first score a lot.

Amazon lists the price of the box set at 60 bucks.

I wonder if they are gonna sell "Temple of Doom" and "Last Crusade" separately...

$60 for the box set? Not bad, about average price. I'm still picking up the box set.

Man someone has to get an advance copy of the set and once and for all tell what the crap is with the set. Whether it's actually a 5 CD set or an 8 CD set.

I hate to double post but Brian I think Temple Of Doom and Last Crusade were supposed to be released separately either later this year or first of next year.

Edit: Brian you sure it was the soundtrack set you saw? I just searched on Amazon they don't list it. The only thing they list for as $60 is the DVD set.

Well I broke down and pre-ordered it through Amazon and did the next day shipping. Why does it say Loveless Records on there instead of Concord Records? I think someone's made a big error there on putting the info in. Someone needs to write to Amazon and let them know.

Why the hell did they change it from Indiana Jones to "Jones"? That doesn't make much damn sense.

I noticed the price on that set is the MAX list price. Most likely, Amazon will drop their price on it.

If you pre order, it will be reelected on your order per their Pre-Price Policy.

However, I'd rather get the music for 10 bucks a CD, then 50 for one I already have and a interview DVD that I'll watch once. If the price lowers and its not an insane 60 bucks, I'm sure I'll swing for it.

If they drop the price that will be fine with me. As I said I don't own any of the previous Indy scores on CD and I held out buying KOTCS cause I knew this was coming. So I'm not double dipping with this set.

I was planning on picking up FOTR and TTT's complete recordings in November but guess those will have to wait until January.

    Full press release:
    http://www.soundtrack.net/news/article/?id=1242

On November 11, 2008 Concord Records will release Indiana Jones: The Soundtracks Collection. This limited-edition boxed set will include all four of Oscar-winning composer John Williams' soundtracks for the Indiana Jones film series - RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and this year's summer blockbuster Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Exclusive to this set are expanded and remastered versions of the original soundtracks for the first three films. The set will also include a bonus CD featuring additional previously unreleased music from the films, as well as excerpts from interviews with Williams, director Steven Spielberg, and executive producer/story creator George Lucas in which they discuss the making of the music for these historic films.

Produced by Laurent Bouzereau, the boxed set will be presented in a handsome, embossed leatherette slip case with a full-color booklet that offers more than 25 pages of behind-the-scenes photos, storyboards and other memorable images from the films. This new set reintroduces and expands the first three iconic Indiana Jones soundtrack albums, which have been collectors' items for many years.

"I've had the great honor and pleasure of visiting the behind-the-scenes of the four Indiana Jones films from several angles: first as a writer/director/producer of documentaries, then as a collaborator on a book chronicling the making of all four films," Bouzereau says. "I felt I had come full circle when I was asked to collaborate on assembling expanded CD soundtrack albums for Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. The result represents a unique musical experience for listeners and fans of the now-classic film series that stimulates the imagination and makes you want to watch the films again."

With 45 Academy Award nominations and five Oscars® under his belt, John Williams has composed many of the most famous film scores in history, and has collaborated with Steven Spielberg for the past 35 years on 23 films including Jaws, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial and Schindler's List. Williams also composed the acclaimed scores for George Lucas' STAR WARS saga, Superman: The Movie, Memoirs of a Geisha, and the first three Harry Potter films.

FYI. All the individual releases have been pushed off to next year... only the box set this year. I guess there's time to petition for jewel cases.

BTW it's been confirmed on jwfan the supposed Raiders leak is a fake. It's not even the real Concord set. In the Indiana Jones thread in the last couple of pages (can't remember which) someone posted a link to the real "Washington Ending / Raiders March" that Concord posted up and believe me sounds much better.

    Bring on the box set!
