I'd like everyone to know that MOVIEMUSIC.COM will be offering this CD with preferential treatment to those customers who order the CD before the movie is released on May 19. You might be able to order it elsewhere, but why? This will be the ultimate place to buy soundtracks in the near future, so why not make your first purchase the PHANTOM MENACE?For details in the next few weeks, please visit the MovieMusic main page. Your support is needed very much to make this web site a successful one!
Thanks for reading. If you have anymore concerns, please contact me through the email link at the bottom of the page.

How soon will we have a price available for The Phantom Menace? Can we buy it exclusively here at MovieMusic.com? Will we have to use a credit card? What kind of info can we expect in the near future? I'm so excited to hear about this release! I've also heard that the CD and cassette may be together in a single package. Any info on that?

Peter, when will we have more info on this? Alot of us (including myself) want to go ahead and order the cd so we don't have to think about it. I know I do, I'm really busy and don't have time to think about Star Wars with everything else going on... Prom and graduation is coming up, etc.I've already ordered mine from Intrada, but I'd be more than happy to cancel that order if you can get me some info really quick.
Once ordered, will you get it to us quickly? Three, Two or Next Day? Give us some time projections so we can make a decision. ;-)
Thanks,

What about international delivery, sometimes it takes ages to get stuff to Finland or even England where I`m studying at the moment.
Interesting fact: Merlin was officially released here last week, in america I think it was hlaf a year ago, but contrastingly Barry`s Beyondness of THings was released here half a year earlier. It`s frustrating!

Hey Everyone,We will be offering this score at very competitive prices. At the moment, I do not know how much we will be offering it for, but I do know that, once the album is released, the album should show up within 2-3 days (USA).
I will post all the info on the main MovieMusic page, as well as a message right here in the message boards, so keep checking up.
As for the time frame, we will have all the info by late April. As you know, no company can actually send out orders until the release date, which is May 4. All in all, you will have time to make the best decisions in the first week in May.
Hope this helps!

A lot of people are saying that John Williams Score for the Phantom Menace is 100% all new stuff but apparently that is not quite true...its only 90% new...I know thats not a big difference but at least some of the old theme will appear in the new soundtrack *s*.The Phantom Menace
Nintendo 64 game will also feature the same music used in the film. I read that John Williams composed in total 2 hours of new music for the film as well as the game.

There is between 90-100 music used in THE PHANTOM MENACE. 74 of it will be released on the CD release on May 4. Who knows if the rest will be released. Williams also recorded music that did not make the film, and alternate versions of several tracks. So, plenty of bonus track material if a second score CD is released. Let's hope!Cheers!

I sense a petition coming up... or perhaps Sony will just release a second disc ala Back to Titanic... By the way, why do most score release leave out the best part/ cue from the movie (e.g. Armageddon, Mulan)?

"Duel of the Fates," the radio single hits stations on Tuesday, April 20. This is a radio single and will therefore probably not be available in stores.Look for the "Duel of the Fates" music video on MTV and VH1 on May 3.
Cheers!

It's probably the ramblings of drooling loonies, but there is still a lot of suspicion that THE PHANTOM MENACE is still a dummy title being used to fool bootleggers. It sort of happened with Return of the Jedi -- previously Revenge of the Jedi. Anybody else heard anything?

I've seen a computer scan of the CD insert, which has a complete listing of every track and time. However, it also contains MAJOR spoilers!!! I don't encourage seeing it if you do not intend to know the plot or storyline simply by a track title. I don't know what John Williams was thinking this time, but does anybody remember Return of the Jedi's original release? "Rebel Briefing" was the title for the piece of music that covered the Funeral Pyre Scene.

It now seems that Duel of the Fates will not air on 4/20 as previously announced by Sony. They are now saying perhaps it will be 4/27. Stay tuned!

Jasom, and anyone else who is curious, a BLISTER PACK is a combo package, CD and cassette, possible the single, but maybe the whole score. This is a rumor I've heard about. Why they would sell both forms together of the same score... I don't know. We'll have to watch and see.

I am not surprised if they release two different releases of the score. This is because the Trilogy SE has got two different packaging: one with the normal jewel case and the other with a book casing or whatever you call it.

The opening title music is the same as the other movies. That is, it is the same theme and everything...however, it is a little bit of a different arrangment....I won't say how...just wait, and if you listen carefully, you'll see what I mean.Cheers!

I hope John didn't use Luke's theme again as the main title. The guy isn't even in the film. (He might be born in the final installment.) I had a nightmare that Williams used that theme again. I will be very disapointed if it is the main title. I think Obi-Wan's theme should (or maybe will) be the main title.

The opening fanfare uses a theme the Williams originally intended to be the "Star Wars Main Theme." It just so happens that it doubles as a sort-of Luke's Theme. Personally, I am glad that the prequels will open the same way as the classic trilogy.

Sony will probably wait to see what the sales are for the first disc, and then make up their mind.I wouldn't expect it for a year or so. Unfortunately. Hopefully I'll be proved wrong.

I've got a friend who received an advanced release. And yes... I feel as if I've committed a cardinal sin by listening to it before seeing the movie... but believe me, I've gotten over it. This music is too good to enjoy any later than this.

I have to ask - who here (who's listened to the score) thinks that track 12 (Panaka and the Queen's Protectors) is one of the best tracks on the cd? I mean, the entire cd, every minute of it is pure Star Wars/Williams heaven, but - this one track REALLY blows me away.Jeron
