What's interesting about me: I worked for the phone company installing and repairing high-speed data lines at the moment, in order to avoid being laid off, I went on an "advanced educational leave of absence," and am attending College again. I pay my bills by working as a security gaurd. It is my great hope to be a filmmaker; it's what I went to school for and what I feel most comfortable doing.
In addition to the technical aspects of cinema, I also studies the aesthetics of the medium and quite a bit of drama as well.
Favorite composers/artists: Bernard Herrmann, Elmer Bernstein, Jerry Goldsmith, Miklos Rozsa, John Williams, Howard Shore, Franz Waxman, Thomas Newman, Basil Poledouris, John Barry and, if you haven't guessed already from my screen name, Erich Wolfgang Korngold.
Favorite soundtrack(s): "Vertigo," "Superman- The Movie," "Conan the Barbarian," "The Sea Hawk," "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir," "Heavy Metal," "El Cid," "Lord of the Rings" Trilogy, "Star Trek- The Motion Picture," "Images," "Looking for Richard," "The Player," "To Kill a Mockingbird," "The Lion in Winter," "Taras Bulba," the Barry-scored Bond films
Why I like Movie Music: Well, I've always been interested in films, but beyond that, I think that what interests me in film music more than any other element is the DRAMA. A film score often paints a picture of a world, a character, a situation; it is often about character interaction and development. I like how music is developed over the course of a story. As a result, I find film music to be one of the most interesting idioms, one which can encompass all genres of music.
Additional Comments: None of the above lists are all inclusive. I find that there is way too much wonderful music out there (granted, it's surrounded by quite a bit of garbage) to quantify in one simple list. I think that I will let my comments on the Message Board and my reviews speak more about my personality than I will say about myself, as I fear my ego.
I'm not worried, however, about monsters from the Id!!!
