Real Name:  Micheal Ruger

Age:  39

Location:  Houston, Texas

What's interesting about me:  I am engaged in an ongoing quest to become a renaissance man. That is not as easy as it sounds. You have to excel not only in art, but science as well. You have to have a good general knowledge of many different disciplines. To that end I engage in the following activities: Computer Programming, Painting, Gaming, Reading (Non-fiction from Working Watercraft of the Ancient World to Chaos Theory, Fiction from Harlot?s Ghost to Battlefield Earth), Gardening, Human Sexuality, Collecting (CD?s, Books, Games, Computers, Movies & Stamps), Math (Very hard for me, but I love the logic of it) Cinema and Learning to Sing. This does not leave time for much else, but with a little multi-tasking, it can be done.

Favorite composers/artists:  No Particular Order: John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, Danny Elfman, Giuseppe Verdi, W.A. Mozat, Jimmy Buffet, Monet, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington & Smashmouth

Favorite soundtrack(s):  Very Tough - Currently : Stargate, Return to Oz, Murder on the Orient Express, Death on the Nile, Edward Scissorhands, Mummy, Witches of Eastwick

Why I like Movie Music:  I like film music because it is the perfect marriage of form and function. As an album, most film scores acquit themselves quite well as compositions, pure form divorced from function. In a movie a good score will highlight the director's point and sometimes redeem an otherwise bad film, function without regard to form.
