I am having a relaxing evening listening to Glazunov, a somewhat neglected Russian composer. His material is quite melodic and fairly easy to listen to. Tonight it is the sixth symphony and a tone poem called the forest.

I tend to equate Glazunov with modern day composers like Broughton or Holdridge. Most who hear the music will recognize the talent, but mass appeal is somehow missing.
BIS just released the Tadaaki Otaka symphony cycle in a budget box.
