Didn't see any of the movies in the first nine catagories. MOst of the movies I liked were in catagories 11 through 24.

Biggest insult -- only mention of Star Wars Episode III is for makeup. WHOSE makeup? Crispy Anakin's?

I guess I have officially outgrown the movie industry. As has most of the country, I think.

There are some very good, well-deserved nominations up there (I just hope it might end Brokeback Mountains undeserved wins (IMO) in the other ceremonies, because I really like PSH to pick up a best actor trophy and either Giamatti or Hurt to get a gold man for thier supporting roles. What's the most interesting up there is the fact that Revenge of the Sith is not in the Visual Effects category; and as Marc pointed out, it earned a questionable Make-up nod. It's cool to see Iglesias and Marianelli up there for our favorite category, but the night belongs to Williams for either Geisha or Munich (the latter is my personal choice). I'd also like to see either Wally Pfister of Emmanuel Lubezki pick up an award for their cinematography for Batman Begins and The New World, respectively. After reading an article in "American Cinematographer" about Pfister work on Batman I was truly set back; not even the seperate articles on Salvatore Totino's work on Cinderella Man or John Mathieson's work on Kingdom of Heaven proved to be all to special after reading Pfister's hard work and dedication.
