Match William Hudson. Richard Crane(Rocky Jones, Space Ranger) and Arthur Franz with the movies they appeared in. EAch were in two of those that follows. No two appeared in same movie. There is one extra film that is not used:

    1. Neanderthal Man-woman and her husband are attacked on picnic by him. In hospital she yells out "it was horrible!! It was a gorilla, a monster!!!!!"

    2. Monster on the Campus-experiment goes awry and man becomes vicious monster

    3. Attack of the 50 Foot Woman-giant alien infects woman, she grows then gets revenge on unfaithful husband

    4. Screaming Skull-man tries to drive his wife crazy with fake ghosts, then that happens to him instead as real ghost comes along

    5. Alligator People-woman remembers experiences under hypnosis of experiments gone bad trying to cure disease. The people have rubbery suits on.

    6. Atomic Submarine-spaceship at north pole challenges U.S. sub, giant eyeball creature absorbs men

    7. Macabre-man hunts for kidnapped grandson in graveyards and in tombs

    Good Luck. Best, J.

Well, of course I know the answers to them ALL, but I'd like to graciously step aside and let some of you others come a cropper. I'll give you until the weekend, but just don't make me angry.

I was lying. I don't know the answers to any of these. Thanks for coming to the rescue, folks. Now I'll just have to poo-poo myself.

    William Hudson... don't know him.

    Richard Crane... don't know him.

Arthur Franz... don't know him, but something has stuck with me from a happy childhood filled with ogling books on horror movies (even if I've only seen ONE of the things on John's list) - Was he in MONSTER ON CAMPUS? And maybe ATOMIC SUBMARINE too?

Come on people, help me out.

Browsing through my books, I inadvertantly found the answer to another, and as I was merely "browsing" it can't be called "cheating". William Hudson was in ATTACK OF THE 50-FOOT WOMAN ("Put him down, Mrs Archer!").

By the way, I don't know what THE SCREAMING SKULL is, but did that have an Ernest Gold score? Something rings a bell there - I'd love to know what that score's like if it is indeed by Gold. It's interesting when Grade A composers did Grade Z movies - ones that spring to mind are David Raksin for NIGHT TIDE and Hugo Friedhofer for HOMICIDAL. That's a bit like John Williams doing JASON VERSUS FREDDY.

Little by little my dormant neurons are beginning to fire... was Richard Crane in ALLIGATOR PEOPLE? That just came to me, honest, could be wrong and probably am. And is MACABRE the odd one out?

Graham, not many come over to this site much. But, yes you are remembering some of them. Richard Crane was in Aligator People and Neanderthal Man. He was in the Rocky Jones Space Ranger TV series in late 50s o n CBS. He was second line actor in many war films long ago and in a few horror films like Devils Partner with Ed Nelson and others.

Gold did do the score to Screaming Skull. Hudson was in that and in Attack as you saw in the book. "Harry!!!!!, Harry!!!!!" she said as the giant rubber hand came down through the roof. He was in Objective Burma, played the cowardly Hollis who got his throat slit at end of movie by the Japanese. He was also in Amazing Colossal Man, westerns and other horror films.

Arthur Franz was in many movies besides his two horror ones that you correctly picked. Atomic Submarine-all star cast with Brett Halsey of TV fame and the REturn of the Fly film. He was in Follow the Sun on TV series on ABC. Also in the film was Dick Foran, famous character actor of 30s=40s and once singing cowboy. Star of two mummy films and in Riders of Death Valley serial with Lon Chaney. Great serial. in 1941. Made a comeback in late 50s and early 60s in several films like Studs Lonigan and was on TV series all the time then. Franz was on TV a l ot in 60s in many series as guest star, he was in the Sniper a film in 50s and in John Wayne films like Sands of Iwo Jima.

    Take care, J.
