Little House on the Prairie comes to DVD later this year. The is the sign that is the sign. We are all doomed.

The best thing ever about this series was a spoof TV Guide listing in (I think) National Lampoon magazine...

Little House in the Ditch: In tonight's episode, everyone dies and bleeds out the ears.

They say criticism is ephemeral but art lasts forever.

That's another way of saying if there's a canvas, or score page, or statue, or film negative somewhere, it doesn't matter how bad the thing is, because it still exists, someone will try and resurrect the thing and it will outlast all the people who tried to bury it once and for all in the first place.

Sad, because with so much better stuff in need of return, we get this, but this was a popular show in its day and there were a lot of people who liked Michael Landon in both this and Bonanza (though god only knows why since both he and the shows couldn't be more boring). Now, the Laura Ingalls Wilder books have their charm, but you can't confuse them with this cookie-cutter, upright moral lesson at the end of every episode kind of shtick. People still go for this stuff though, look how long Touched By An Angel was on the air.

As for this being a final sign of the Apocalypse, uh, I hate to tell you, but the Apocalypse happened years ago and you're really inside a pod hooked into the Matrix and don't know that everything you see is just a virtual reality. Have a nice day.

Dammit Lou!!! You weren't supposed to let everyone know that!!! I thought you were taught the correct views.
