I haven't yet watched it (listening to a CD, don't want to pause, will watch trailer later). But at least before the one you mentioned, the funniest trailer I've ever seen has to be the one for Ice Age. And I never went to see the actual movie.

The trailer was a riot. I believe the voice is actually of Don LaFontaine. I guess "Jack" is just an actor and they looped LaFontaine over him.Too bad the trailer doesn't have any clues at all to the content of the movie.

That's the guys real voice, and it's NOT Don LaFontaine. There are a few other guys who do voiceovers. I forget this guy's name, but he's the real deal. (And his name's not Jack.)

That being said, the film is really a documentary-type thing about his comedy tour, and return to stand-up last year. You can find all that stuff out by looking around the net.Dan

If you want to see what LaFontaine really looks like, you'll have to find someone with a bunch of Blockbuster commercials on tape. They had a series of commercials a few years ago where customers would come to the front desk with a title in their hands and ask "Can you tell us a little about this movie?" and Don would step out of a cabinet under the desk and read the voice-over for the movie's trailer in front of the customer.

FINALLY!!From Roger Ebert's latest answering-questions session:
The new Seinfeld trailer may not sell tickets, but it's one of the funniest I've seen. It stars the "in a world ..." guy himself, Hal Douglas, described by Miramax publicist Tracy Ury as "perhaps the most recognizable trailer voice in the business." The trailer is a merciless dig at all the weary catch-phrases that trailers recycle over and over again. It's at www.apple.com/trailers/miramax/comedian.html
Hal Douglas. Finally. Case closed!Kosh
