Well...they are obviously getting desperate to get some added box office by showing the Yoda stuff in commercials and in the print ads.

It's the highlight of the film and now it's totally given away.

I'm not surprised the commercial is running. They know what gets people back in the theater: the big fight.

On a music note (pun intended), what is that music at the beginning of the clip, before the Star Wars music kicks in? I don't think it's Star Wars music. If it's from somewhere else, please let me know. I like that music.

Just a little background, folks. That is a trailer that Lucasfilm created for the fans to be shown at Star Wars Celebration II last month, before the film came out. It was a big hit, obviously.

They didn't create it to get "added box office" - and it's not an OFFICIAL commercial, which is why it's not running.

Well I guess it's probably music that's supposed to somehow sound "spidery".

About the use of Yoda fighting in ads - at least they waited over a week for the fans to rush to see it, before showing these ads. And after all, it's simply showing someone fight, not some major plot point.

Yeah, it's not a major plot point, but for a lot of us, it's the only redeeming scene in the entire film.

I guess it's a smart move, though. They know about now that everybody who was going to see it probably has already, and now they're showing off its best secrets to hopefully attract some of the regular schmucks who were smart enough to pass on it the first time around.

Is it just me or that Yoda look extremely fake!

well, I was intrigued, but now, since the best part is shown already, I really don't need/want to see now.

Great! Stay home and stop bitchin' about it. Another discontented viewer griping about poor acting, lousy dialogue, too much CGI, choppy musical cues buried in a battle sequence....attack of the clones, indeed.

    Lessee here......

Having paid for a show, been disappointed, and able to crystallize and articulate what it is about the movie we didn't like, we're not allowed to state those opinions? Or are just "clones" for finding fault in and being disappointed with something that we spent money to see?

    Please.

Having found the story almost completely bereft of honest emotional resonance, the movie plays out like one of those re-enactments on AMERICA'S MOST WANTED or somesuch. We see how A got to B and thus to C, but aren't as interested because the universal appeal of the primary characters is either wholly absent or just not very well delineated. Just MY OPINION, of course; and although it seems to be a shared one with a great many folks, since none of them are attacking you for liking the movie or music or whatever, where's the harm? Just page past it and leave your "clones" sniping about those of us who thought it totally blew somewhere else.

Again, as nobody is attacking anybody else, where's the harm in having differing opinions about this huge pop-cultural phenomenon that's impacting everywhere in the media right now? Be it the movie or the music, that's what gets discussed hereabouts, and people come here to associate with others who share their passion for the stuff.

Also, how is that Yoda-snippet in any way related to Spiderman? Just looks like the rest of the "occupation" tv spots that were out for Ep. 2.

And the text in no way resembles Spiderman...... watchoo talkin' bout, Chris?

In context, "stay home and stop bitching about it" and the "clones" remark certainly seem to state L.'s disgust with those of us down on it.

    Jeron,

I think he's referring to the generalization Lancelot is grouping all of us who "dislike and gripe about" the film in...

    Pretty obvious, j00 f00.

Wow - you know, I guess there are TWO different Yoda things. The one I (and Chris) were referring to is a satire on the SPIDER-MAN "Take the Ultimate Spin". It's NOT the link in the first post in this thread - which is where the confusion comes from.

Rather, I believe THIS will clear up everything:

Jeron - this is the one I wanted to send you, oh, 3 weeks ago. :-p

Ooops. Sorry. I did the wrong link. Thanks dgoldwas. And I found out about this trailer because of actually seeing it on tv last night on the WB.

    Fixed it.
