Some of you might have seen this thing floating around...so I read through it and I am seriously doubting its authenticity. Now I know that Harry Knowles didn't actually deny that this was the one I'm still not sure.

    Reasons:
    1) Yes, the flow of the story mirrors all the hubbub and the trailers. Strangely though, all of the scenes that have been well documented or scene in the trailers seem to be vividly depicted, while others are strangely bland or vague. The climactic ending seems like a mish mash of crap on paper--probably because none of the true details or dialogue have been spilled in the trailers, only quick glimpes.

2)Yes, all of the dialogue from the trailers makes it into the screenplay in one form or another, but everything in between feels like it was written by a 12-year old. References to "he's my boyfriend" or "she's my girlfriend" pop up a couple times...that would be a stretch even for the murderer of dialogue Lucas himself.

There are two possibilities...(1) this is an extremely early draft, where Lucas was simply concerned with getting the film's basic structure down on paper. Even then it feels like a stretch. (2) Some demented fanboy has gathered up every possible piece of info that has been published and pieced together a screenplay.

Either way the final product will view better than the script reads...but if even half of this dialogue is real and ends up in the film it will be a painful two hours.

    Anyone else read it? Thoughts.

Well either no one cares of no one visits the Just Movies board...but regardless I think my concerns have been answered. The AICN guy who saw the movie says that while the script has the structure and many scenes right there are drastic differences particularly with the dialogue and key scenes which have been omitted entirely.

    PHew....

Lucas may not be the best director but I'm sure he can write better than a 12 year old. Can't wait for May 16th.

The draft floating around IS authentic, it's an early version of the second draft minus revisions.

I have a couple of other drafts of the script that are the revised versions of that same draft with some extra tweaks and additions here and there, but even the drafts I've had for a while are minus all the revisions they had for pick up shots and re-shoots which they did here in the UK late last year.

99.9% if not 100% of the scenes with Padme's sister and parents has been chopped btw. So breathe a sigh of relief if you truly didn't like those (I'll admit they took the story nowhere). The scenes were shot, but the actors in the roles are not credited on the final credits list, and the actress who portrayed Padme's sister did reveal recently she had been given the chop.

There's a heck of a lot missing from the draft online. Palpatine's little chat with Anakin, the asteroid chase, scenes with Dooku and Obi Wan and a load more scripted for the climax (scenes in the droid factory as seen in the clone war trailer). The published screenplay on the 23rd will have all these revisions I am sure.
