As a movie theater employee, I am privy to certain privelaged (stolen) documents. The one I have now lists release dates for all the movies coming out between now and January. Obviously, the list is subject to change, but I noticed something interesting in a stupid, desperate-for-something-to-do kind of way. My birthday is July 21, a Friday. The movies coming out that day are: What Lies Beneath, Pokemon 2000, and, most ironically, Loser. What I propose is this: If anyone out there has a birthday on or near a Friday, let me know and I'll tell you what new releases you can celebrate it by watching.
Or: This is ridiculous tripe that only I would be interested in and noone responds to me. I wouldn't be surprised either way.

This sounds like fun...
My daughter's birthday is July 14, which will be a Friday this year, and my birthday is October 12, which will be a Thursday.

October 13 (a Friday
): Bounce, Lost Souls, Get Carter, and (I'm not kidding) "Untitled Cameron Crowe Film"December 22: You'll have to give me some time on that one, the list is sketchy that far in advance. I'll take a look at the recent one tomorrow.
And the big winner? Chris' daughter with X-Men! No other movie is stupid enough to try and open against what is sure to be THE summer blockbuster.

Hi J. Peter Wolk-Laniewski! I'm the manager of our little home town movie here in Florida where I live. You wouldn't by chance be looking at the I.M.E. Edge, would you? Or Film Journal?
Do you work for a large theatre chain, or just a locally owned theatre?
Just wondering........ :-)

My birthday is July 21, too. What a bummer line-up of movies. I knew Pokemon was coming out, but LOSER?Guess that explains why I can't get a copy of my favorite score of 1999.

Hey Starblade:I work for the biggest, most evil of corporate theater entities, Regal Cinemas. My information is from a memo that we get every week. Every time my manager tells me to put the new one in the folder and throw the old one away, I just keep the old one.

Thanks, J. Peter!
I can now plan my birthday weekend in advance, knowing that I won't be going to the movies!
...however, my daughter did tell me yesterday that she's hot to see X-Men!

OK, a couple updates:December 22: Miss Congeniality, Wes Craven's Dracula 2000
Hey! A vampire movie coming out on dantoris' birthday! (cue Twilight Zone music) Also ironic: I just saw Interview w/the Vampire last night on DVD. wierd. I doubt Craven's actually directing, studios seem fond of sticking his name on anything he's remotely connected to.
October 13: Hey Chris, you can add SNL's Ladies Man to your list!

Thanks, J. Peter.
I'm a HUGE SNL fan, and I LOVE Tim Meadows' "The Ladies Man"...but these SNL movies are usually pretty lame.
