This was just announced by Paramount. It has the following features:

      16x9 enhanced widescreen.

5.1 channel Dolby Digital audio track in English, as well as English and French Dolby Surround tracks.

Audio commentary track by director and star Mel Gibson (it is supposed to be a most engaging track that will undoubtedly make all fans of the film and the star very happy)

      A featurette called "Braveheart: A Filmmaker's Passion."

      Two theatrical trailers.

    It's coming out August 29th.

You can read Paramounts press release here

Cool. Braveheart's battles were meant to be seen on DVD and the widescreen....those additional features seem like a load of useless **** if you ask me (considering how Gibson's somewhat of an ego maniac, just look at the billboards and advertisements for The Patriot. How egotisical can one be?!)....

Now Paramount, where's FORREST GUMP on DVD??
