First off, hello, I'm new here.. hehe.

Anyway, I'm looking for a piece of music, that I believe is done by Graeme Revell (it has his "sound" to it).

So far I've heard the bit in two places. It was in the film "Pitch Black" (the shot where Claudia Black's character first sees Riddick right after Zeke is killed). It was also in the "Lord of the Rings: FOTR" trailer #2 (right after Gandalf says "Sauron needs only this Ring to cover all the lands in darkness"). It doesn't even sound like a musical instrument, it's a very short metallic-sounding.. thing.

The only hints I have to go off of is the listing of trailer music on LOTR. The "Crow: City of Angels" soundtrack is mentioned.. that puts Graeme Revell's name in connection with both times I've heard this, so I'm assuming it's his. There's no mention of any other Revell soundtracks, yet the "Crow: City of Angels" soundtrack doesn't seem to have this bit on it (I sat and listened to the whole thing this morning).

Does anyone have any clue where this bit originated from, or if it's available on CD anywhere? Which soundtrack, which CD track, etc?

    LOL, track 14 - Disc 1, "Zeke's Death" 1:58

Could it have been more obvious?

And for clarification, since i love this movie,

Reddick did not kill Zeke. The un-named alien creators did.

That would be a "Negative, Ghost Rider.." While Track 14 is from that scene in the movie, it's missing the specific sound I was looking for.

Just to clarify, here's the sound I'm hunting:

This MP3 was ripped right from the PB DVD. But it's not on the PB soundtrack. Unfortunately, the clip in the movie is cobbled together with the rest of the soundtrack. Does anyone know where this sound originates?

Sorry to say, that might just be a sound effect or if it is part of the score, it should be noted the 2 cd set is the original score. Some cues contain score not in the film blah blah blah, so it just may not be the version of the cue you are looking for.

Kinda sounds to me as if it's a sound effect rather than part of the score. I'll have to check out my dvd.

Yes, it is a sound effect of some sort. But Revell's scores are replete with sound effects. But it's not a sound effect that's part of the film itself, it's part of the "music" for the scene that includes the score and that sound.

Plus the fact that it shows up in several of the LOTR trailers makes me think it's more than just a simple sound effect.
