I would like to talk to someone who has the expanded boot of this score with GOLDSMITH'S additional music. Anyone out there. Sale? Trade?

Hey Hal, I used to have this 2 CD boot featuring Joel McNeely's music and I'll have to say it's aweful. The sound is really bad as if they ripped it off the DVD but even worse the sound is pinched. And everything else is from the Varese album and McNeely's promo. I'd stay away from it if I were you.

HT is spot on. The McNeely cues sound very good, but the extra Goldsmith stuff sucks the big one, unfortunately.

I had seen a couple of weeks ago a 2cd AF1 auction on Ebay. If I read the description properly it was ALL Goldsmith. The auction ended with a final bid of 107.50!!!! It was obviously a boot, so does anyone know anything more?

It's definetly not worth getting Ed, and plus it has the worst track titles I've ever heard. That's how bad it is.

Well now Im worried....im on the verge of making a deal for a 2CD AFO.Are there ANY copies out there of JG's cues that sound decent?
Or is it unanimous that JG's cues for AFO that are not on the Varese CD sound bad.posted 01-24-2001 11:16 AM PT (US)

now now guys,
I picked up a copy of "More Music From The Film" when in London. It's Got McNeely's really cool cue's, Newman's Rejected score (some of which is cool, but for the most part i can see why it was rejected) and lastly it has goldsmiths end credits cue. The sound is excellent, and the disc looks professionally done almost like a promo. I highly recommend this disc, if you want some of the unreleased stuff from AFO.Rich D.

I'm not sure what discs you guys are talking about, but I have the 2 cd complete by Goldsmith running at just over 90 minutes. The sound quality is excellent. And nothing wrong with the track titles either. Maybe you guys just got some bumb deal or something. Mine is perfect.

The Last Boyscout (Michael Kamen) *****Does your cd have track titles like this:
"The President Calls the Whithe House"
"Vice President Shot"
"Get the Plane On the Ground"
"Hostage Preparations Part 1"
"Hostage Preparations Part 2"
"Dog Fight"This is the version I have. Sound is poor.

In the murky world of boots, there are often different versions of the same score floating around. The 2 CD set of AIR FORCE ONE that I have has the following track titles. I have also included a note on the sound quality of each track. Maybe this will clear up a little of the confusion surrounding this particular boot - but then again, it may just muddy the waters even more!DISC ONE
1 Main Title: The Parachutes (5:20) Varese rip - excellent
2 The Motorcade (2:39) Varese rip - excellent
3 President Aboard (1:59) mediocre sound
4 No Security (3:03) Varese rip - excellent
5 Agent Gibbs (:31) mediocre sound
6 The Hijacking (7:47) Varese rip - excellent
7 Empty Pod (3:09) mediocre sound
8 Ivan Calls The White House (:55) mediocre sound
9 The President Is Alive (2:38) mediocre sound
10 Marshall Plan Part 1 (1:06) mediocre sound
11 Marshall Plan Part 2 (:47) mediocre sound
12 Empty Rooms (3:47) Varese rip - excellent
13 Element of Surprise (:48) mediocre sound
14 Waiting For The Call (1:28) mediocre sound
15 First Execution (1:16) mediocre sound
16 Mother Russia (1:22) mediocre sound
17 Outside Call (1:34) Excellent sound - McNeely cue
18 Firing On Air Force One (2:37) Excellent sound - McNeely cue
DISC TWO
1 Downstairs (1:09) mediocre sound
2 The Hostage (1:20) Excellent sound - McNeely cue
3 Second Execution (2:50) mediocre sound
4 The Hostages (:30) mediocre sound
5 Dumping Fuel (2:25) Excellent sound - McNeely cue
6 Freeing The Hostages (3:28) Excellent sound - McNeely cue
7 Free Flight (4:50) Varese rip - excellent
8 Marshall Meets Korshunov (3:06) Excellent sound - McNeely cue
9 Face To Face (3:41) mediocre sound
10 Radeck Is Released (2:02) mediocre sound
11 Get Off My Plane (4:53) mediocre sound
12 Radeck’s Death (the choral track) (1:40) mediocre sound
13 Under Attack (4:12) Excellent sound - McNeely cue
14 No Way To Land (3:11) Excellent sound - McNeely cue
15 Escape From Air Force One (5:27) Varese rip - excellent
16 Welcome Aboard, Sir (2:09) Varese rip - excellent
17 End Credits (6:00) Good soundFirst of all, by "mediocre sound" I mean: slightly muffled, pinched, and mono-ish. These cues are definitely from a worse source than anything else on this 2 CD set.
The Varese cues sound as good as you'd expect from a rip of their original CD.
The McNeely cues? I'm guessing, so I may be wrong. I gather there are eight cues on another boot that features his music, so I used a little logic: the Varese rips are obvious, and when you discount the mediocre-sounding cues, that leaves EIGHT excellent cues - so they're probably McNeely's. If anyone can actually confirm this, that would be great.
