Was there ever a release of the score from The Seven Samurai, LP and/or CD? I seem to remember something on album, but have found no references to it, so it may just be faulty memory.RH

Rocco will be able to go into more detail on this one I'm sure.Varese put out a re-recording on LP of music from 7 Sam and Rashomon which I suspect was originally on a Japanese LP.
A 5CD set of music from Kurosawa films has a long suite from 7 Sam--original tracks. But I wouldn't know where you could find one even though there are rumors of it still being in print.
If you contact Tower records (at least that's where I found my copy), they have a 1 CD set of music from Kurosawa films which also has a suite from 7 Sam. It's slightly shorter than the suite in the 5CD set but again it's the orig tracks. The catch is the price--$33, but all the music on it is great.
