Topic: These scores have gone OOP

Hi there.I am new to this board. Just hopped on in from the ailing FSM board on advice of a friend.
Has anyone noticed that "Cocoon", "Dune" and "Last of the Mohicans" has gone OOP recently. I didn't expect it. It just happened........
Could we make a separate forum in which we can report all scores that go OOP in the current month. It can give others the opportunity to react quickly and swiftly to the demise...... (oh, the agony)
So if you have anything to report, do so.....
Facts that would be helpful:
Score title, composer, record company/label, last known store that still has stock and price.Cheers,
Foobs

Foobs,Welcome to the message board. I must ask, where are you getting your information from? All kinds of stores, online and off, all report different things... are you cross checking? Or what?
Thanks!

At the record store where I work, I just tried ordering The Last Of The Mohicans for someone and I found out it had been DELETED from the warehouse's stock! One of the most popular scores of the 90s is OUT OF PRINT?!? That's nuts! You still might find it online somewhere, but as far as record stores, if you want it, get it while it's still on the shelves!Shaun

"Cocoon" and "Dune" are going out of print because Peg is going out of business. That also means "Clash of the Titans" and "Ice Station Zebra" are going to disappear soon, too.I have no idea why "Mohicans" is going out of print. That's bizarre.

I'm alittle worried about this one, I have the score, but I must sympathise with everyone who doesn't have Last of the Mohicans. Get it now, very soon!
This might be a good thing. You see, in the recently released DVD director's cut of the film, Michael Mann deleted the song "I Will Find You" (performed by Clannad) from the film. Mabye this means a complete re-issue of the score without the song and a couple more tracks? This might turn out to be VERY cool.
PS, if you want some of the music, its available on the compilation CD "The Big Picture" performed by Erich Kunzel and the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra. Though its not original score, the music still sounds great as it is recorded by Telarc in 20-bit surround sound.
Clash of the Titans is available on yet another Kunzel CD called "The Great Fantasy Adventure Album" and Cocoon is available on still another Kunzel disc called "Star Tracks II"
These Telarc cd's are great for those of you who aren't completists and just want one or two themes from the movie. They are also the only non-original scores that are truest to the composer's intent, sometimes sounding even better then the real thing. They also use mostly orchestra in their recordings and very few synths, except when using a chorus. And sometimes they use a real chorus also.
