There is a new m&m commercial (with a couple looking at a poster of a green m&m) that uses a popular movie soundtrack piece. I couldn't remember if it was from The Green Mile, Shawshank Redemption or American Beauty. Can anyone help???Here is a link to the commercial: http://www.m-ms.com/green/video/05_all_growed_up_300.asf
Thanks,
Gene

Gosh, they all sound the same, don't they?I would have to say THE GREEN MILE - and that would make more sense, considering the poster in the commercial, eh?

Actually, i'm pretty sure it's from american beauty. The track is either track eight or track eighteen on the score. They're both basically the same, the first being called "American Beauty", and the latter "A Rose by any name" i have never heard the complete green mile score, however, but when i saw the commercial i instantly recognized the american beauty score.

Wait a minute! I could of sworn that was one ofthe final tracks on Shawshank Redemption. The part where he figured out that the wall was made of weak rock. That was the music wasn't it?

No, it's definately American Beauty, track 8. I know it sounds similar to other Thomas Newman scores but it is not identical. There are differences. It's american beauty. Trust Me.

<shrug>Who knows. Maybe it's AMERICAN BEAUTY and not THE GREEN MILE. I'm not exactly enthralled with either score, nor have I actually put either CD in to check.
After a while, Newman's stuff all runs together like a watercolor painting left out in the rain*.

'Nuff said.
