Hey there everyone! I was watching the Chocolat trailer recently, and I noticed there's a song on it that doesn't appear in the finished film. There's a woman singing on it, and it's a sort of ballad... it sound really familiar. Any help would be appreciated.

The only music I know of that was used in the CHOCOLAT trailer was from James Newton Howard's score to RESTORATION.

Might that be what you're thinking of?

Thanks for posting, but I don't think so, no. This was a song... very modern-sounding. But thanks again!

Was this a theatrical trailer or a television spot? Do you have a link to an online quicktime where I might be able to hear it?

    Thanks,
    Dan

www.apple.com/trailers - the Chocolat trailer is there. Easily downloadable. If you can help, it would be greatly appreciated... I'm tearing my hair out here!

Ah - hadn't seen that trailer before. RESTORATION was used in the TV spots - sorry, I should have clarified that.

I think the songs used are "Tonight and the Rest of My Life" by Nina Gordon and "Breathless" by The Corr.

    Does that help?

Yeah, it did. I checked out Nina Gordon's site, and couldn't believe how she'd changed since her Veruca Salt days. Makes me want to go home and listen to Seether... thanks!

    Slightly off topic:

In the trailer, there's a scene where Judi Dench tells Johnny Depp "if I was 20 years younger your virtue would be in danger" or something like that.

The scene wasn't in the film when I went to see it. Anyone notice this? Is this just the European cut?

    Merci

It's not a rare thing to use shots or scenes from a film that don't end up in the final film. In this particular case, I don't know if it the european cut is any different than the theatrical cut. But I wouldn't lose sleep over it; just hang tight and wait for the DVD and hopefully it'll have deleted scenes.

Oh don't worry - I'm sleeping fine. I was just asking.

It's not like they left the 'I am your father' scene out of Empire Strikes Back
