For me, it is the Aliens cue with the slam bang piece that I heard in the Alive trailer and tons more(1400 times). It grates on my nerves. Thanks, John.

For me its those movie previews that start of kind of nice, but then feel its necessary to inject some soulful motown music in a scene completely out of context and for no apparent reason whatsoever, making it seem distracting and in some cases nauseating.

A perfect example of this was Bicentennial Man. When the trailer began, I thought to myself, "Hmm, this seems nice. They could pull it off." Then they show some stupid robots dancing to a song made in the 50's, which isn't just out of context, but just plain stupid. I almost vomited in my milk duds when I saw it. Keep in mind that I have nothing against motown music; in fact I like it a lot. It's just that I hate it when they put it in a preview for a movie that's supposed to explore a being's journey to discover itself.

    PS: Robin Williams didn't help.

Those stupid "feel good" comedies like those starring Julia Roberts, Meg Ryan, Jennefer Anniston and the like...they all begin with something dramatic and then start into some cooky..."Here Comes The Sun" type garbage. Usualy the end result is a lame 80's song that makes me NOT wanna see the movie. The only time this actualy WORKED was in "Grosse Pointe Blank."

I thought use of the ALIENS clip started getting REALLY out of hand when it turned up in a Goldie Hawn movie (!), DECEPTION.

I don't know if this counts since it was only used in one trailer. But, the music in the first half of the Dinosaur tralier was awesome then they ruined it with that heavy metal crap.

Yup, that heavy metal TRASH from last summers Dinosaur teaser trailer was insulting.

I usually hate the music in trailers, because most of the time, if it's not written for something else, then it is evocative of something else.

Sometimes songs can be used well in trailers. A good example that occurs to me is the use of Hendrix's cover of Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower" in the "Clockers" trailer.

I have to say, though, I don't usually think of George Harrison's "Here Comes the Sun" as that annoying.

Well, maybe this is the best place to broach this subject.

I WAS looking forward to Titan A.E. until I saw the trailer for it this weekend (in front of Galaxy Quest). It was full of heavy metal trash. Now I'm seriously reconsidering whether or not I'll plunk money down on this movie when it comes out.
