What an awesome day! Great hearing from the composers and their inside stories. Autographs galore. Little clues dropped by La-La Land Records. Is there a possible re-issue or update on Michael Kamen's Die Hard in the future? Or Hook? Who knows, but the guys behind the label. Thanks to all who worked hard to put it all together!

MV told me that (with a slight grin on his face when I mentioned "Hook") only Spielberg and Williams have the say on what is released. MV wouldn't elaborate further, but he seemed to indicate that La-La had been efforting a release, and Spielberg and Williams are the ones they are counting on for permission. As to Die Hard, Michael Wandmacher (composer of "Piranha 3-D") had mentioned how he had bought the limited release of Die Hard, and had it mounted on his wall in clear plastic, unopened. MV commented from the side, "I'd sell it quick if I were you." This comment brought chuckles of knowing form all within earshot. Perhaps La-La is planning a more prominent Die Hard release?
I also questioned MV about the Batman Returns. It is scheduled for October 19, 2010, and is a 2-disc set the same price as Batman was last month. The source material was in much better quality, and the two discs will comprise only the full film score and alternates, and not a remastering of the original album release. That means much more music spread over two discs, than the first film's score!

Nice to see Hook finally confirmed. I will definitely buy it for sure. I bet it will sell out as fast as Intrada's Predator.

@Martin: Totally agree! I've come to really love that score and Goldenthal in the past 10 years. It's very much one that needs a expanded and remaster. The Blu Rays have the ISO on them, Alien 3 included. So that'll be great.

hey guys, I didn't say Hook was confirmed. (I don't need MV coming after me for that) I just think that they are working on the problem of rights. Nothing is confirmed for Hook... believe me, I'd be jumping in circles for days, if that were true. However, I am excited about Batman Returns, and the possibility (however remote in the future) of Die Hard.

Did anyone by any chance enquire about Poltergeist (2 CD, FSM)?

Thought that was slated for "summer." Looks to have been pushed back.--Brian

Lukas was so busy talking to everyone there (before we got started), that I didn't have a chance to ask.

Hello all, Peter here the fellow who put on the event, so glad that those that got to came had a great time. There was a lot of folks behind the sceens that worked hard to give you and me a great day of film music. There will be a sequel next year. It's such a long time away, but I'm already thinking ahead. The composers were as cool as cool can be. They seemed very relaxed maybe because our group was not a super large conference type event, but a small gathering of admirers.
Anyway, if anyone did go, I'd love to hear more of what you thought, send me a note or find me on Facebook, Peter Hackman, filmscoremonthly@gmail.com.
Take guys!!!
