For those anywhere near the Los Angeles area February 6th:On Saturday February 6th, 2010, GSPO’s Great Composers Series will showcase music by some of the most recognized names in the film music history - John Williams, Leonard Bernstein, Alan Silvestri, John Ottman, Danny Elfman, James Horner, Alfred Newman and Alex North. By special arrangement with Michael Giacchino, GSPO will be playing his music from the TV series LOST, now in its last season. Artistic Director, Steven Allen Fox and Music Director Vic Pesavento have chosen these composers because they admire their artistry and all of the composers have won awards, recognizing their musical contributions.
Both Christopher Young and John Ottman will be there for a stageside chat at 7:30PM with conductor Steven Allen Fox
This is the tentative breakdown:
World Premiere of a Suite of Music from "Avatar".

Flight to Neverland from Hook John Williams
music Conquest from Captain From Castille by Alfred Newman
music from El Cid by Miklos Rosza
Cinema Paradiso by Ennio Morricone (arranged by John Williams)
Fantastic Four: Silver Surfer by John Ottman (and he will be in attendance)
On the Waterfront by Leonard Bernstein
Michael Giacchino LOST
Alex North STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE
possibly Laura's Theme by David Raksin
James Newton Howard Prince of Tides
John Barry DANCES WITH WOLVES
A musical tribute to the Olympic game by playing Bugler's Dream by Leo Arnaud (who was a successful film music orchestrator)
