Hi All,

It's a David Shire weekend, beginning this Thursday, January 28th at 7 PM as I moderate a composer talk and audience q & a at the New Beverly Cinema for screenings of two great movies graced with two of Shire's best scores - THE TAKING OF PELHAM ONE TWO THREE and THE HINDENBURG, a plunge into wild 70's crime jazz and a timelessly soaring symphonic score that play the composer at the height of his diversity. For more information, go here.

Then on Saturday the 30th from 2 to 3 PM, David Shire will be appearing at Dark Delicacies in Burbank for a composer signing, his first-ever in the Los Angeles area. DD will have in stock such cd's as PELHAM, THE CONVERSATION and THE HINDENBURG. For more info, go to:

Then climaxing Shire's LA trip will be Steve Horowitz and The Code Ensemble's imaginative new take on the PELHAM score, performed to a screening of the film at the Redcat performance space, with Shire in attendance, at Disney Hall. Get your tickets for the 8:30 performances on Friday and Saturday the 29th and 30th here:

I hope to see you during this weekend to celebrate the work of this acclaimed composer.
