This just in from Intrada: BLUE MAX, THE (COMPLETE SCORE)
Label: Intrada Special Collection Volume 120 Date: 1966 Tracks: 30 Time = 65:33 At last! World premiere release of Jerry Goldsmith's complete soundtrack, widely regarded as an all-time great. Intrada gains access to all original stereo mixes made at Shepperton Studios in London plus multi-track mixes made at 20th Century Fox, presents previously unreleased cues, correct takes & assemblies plus best stereo imaging to date. Previous releases were incomplete plus either processed sound to address hiss (reducing stereo image) or assembled with incorrect mixes (resulting in jarring edits). Intrada CD improves both, also presents first release of "The Balloon" (where Stachel takes initial assignment to shoot down observation balloon) plus introduces final "Exit Music" intended for roadshow presentations. Also hear "Love Theme" as composer intended for first time since 1966 Mainstream LP, with orchestral intro, coda plus composer's preferred assembly of "First Blood/First Victory" as he composed it. Graphics by Joe Sikoryak, detailed notes by Julie Kirgo complete package. Jerry Goldsmith conducts. Intrada Special Collection release limited to 2500 copies! 01. Main Title 2:22 02. This has always been one of my all time favs by him and any composer. I love all that great battle music. Great cues. Let's see now, this is the fourth different CD on this. WOW. J.

Any chance we can get the rest of the score to In Harnm's Way? Theres some great music missing there. The PT boat attack, and some other cues. J.

John I believe the original masters are lost so all that's left is the music on the album.

I ordered it from the MM store (when it was first announced). Maybe it's still available?

There are already copies on eBay. Some people just want to profit from us collectors.

I have been good at getting lots of these titles after they are sold out. I suspect I will find one here shortly. J. At the same price too.

Of course it sold out. Everyone knows who the unscrupulous people are who buy a bunch of them, and then sell the discs for outrageous prices later. I don't have to name names, because we all know who these slimeballs are. That being said, I'm glad I ordered mine as soon as I got the word from Intrada from their Twitter feed. K

Yes, Kevin. This is happening more and more on these limited ones. The people know there are a number of folks like us who collect and they know they can rip some folks off on this. Now, since I have a few contacts of folks who get a few of these titles I am usually able to get the ones I really want. Now I can't get them all because so many come out at once, but I did get the Bandolero, Capricorn One and several others and lots of the Varese before they were sold out because of my contacts. And my contacts were nice enough to sell for the same prices even though they could have jacked them up. That shows we still have some people who treat you right. Peter is one of these. He gives great service here at MM and tries to help us out on getting some of these titles. J.

That tape I put together several years ago of all the different sources of the Blue Max was pretty good. It had a nice version of the "Love Theme" and that intermission cue on it. This is one great score. JW.
