Hey guys, I've been asked to edit a short video about a program a local group of students is doing. It's about their beginnings and what they're doing in the future. My directors want it to be epic and motivational. I'm thinking a montage scored to music on par with Carmina Burana. Any ideas about movie or classical choral pieces I can readily find? Copyright is not an issue, as it is a private showing at an assembly, and not for broadcast use.JC

"Charging Fort Wagner" from Glory...hahahahahaha."Woad To Ruin" from King Arthur is a good piece. It depends on how long it is or how much music it calls for but this cue is a good length.
"Main Title/Morgan's Ride" from Cutthroat Island
"My Name Is Lincoln" from The Island is always good.
There are some other good cues that don't use a chorus. "Lost in the Wild" from The Edge, "Main Title" from The Greatest Game Ever Played, the beginning of "A Distant Discovery" from Deep Impact (I have used this in during interviews before), maybe some of the Trevor Jones material from The Last of the Mohicans..there's lots of stuff out there.
Some trailer cues are good too.

When I think chorus, I always think LOTR first. I don't know, it may be some sort of genetical defect.I don't know how long it should be. What about the rising choral piece for Gandalf in Two Towers' "Nazgul Attack" (Complete Recordings) or "Where Is The Horse And The Rider"?

"Suo Gan" - Empire of the Sun, John Williams.
"August's Rhapsody" - August Rush, Mark Mancina.

Okay guys, thanks for the input, but my director and I went a totally different direction. Seems that the footage didn't support the whole gods raining down on earth feel of O Fortuna or other styled pieces.Instead, went contemporary, with Clubbed to Death, and Keep It Up by Snap. Oh well... so goes the the decisions made above me.
