Well folks, a new year with new info and new soundtracks. Right off the bat, here we go:Assuming Fox doesn't screw up the release Warner has planned for the film, according to www.watchmenmusic.com a sire established by Warner Bros. Records, the Watchmen original Soundtrack will be released 2/24/09.

Heads up - Take the comma out of your link and people can do directly to it ;-)Let's hope this release doesn't get messed up for the movie and score.

Well folks, now that the whole studio war over this property is over, those of use interested in the film are looking forward to the film can now move on to some other soapbox.
Meantime, www.watchmenmusic.com has been updated to offer a vinyl picture disc (special collector edition) with a score track on one side, for those interested.
Further, both the "soundtrack" they claim with music from the film and the score (which I take to mean seperately released), will now BOTH be available 2/24/09.
Can't wait to pre-order this here!

.... and then something called "Rorschach's Journal" is being released on 3/10/09, MSRP of $60. Special edition book or something, I haven't had time to look up more detail..... then the vinyl is to be released 3/17 (two albums, like the CDs)... sheeeesh.
This is like 300 all over again with all these different versions, but perhaps without the plagiarism!

The cue titles for the score are intriguing (though I hated the "Prison Fight" cue, I'm hoping for better things from the rest). And the soundtrack is a nice little collection of some great stuff, with only a little fluff thrown in.

Isn't Mozart's Requiem now starting to be as played out as Orff's Carmina Burana?
