I actually just broke down and preordered this earlier today from the WB site and I also thought that clip I was hearing was unreleased- I am pretty sure it was from the bank heist scene.

John FWas it on www.thedarkknightscore.com? Because all those clips are actually from the original CD and they list the name of the track you're listening to at the bottom.

Okay folks, here's the interesting part - WB is selling this set (to those interested) for 39.99 on pre-order, which with their shipping, is about Amazon's price of 44.99 (for which you can get free shipping).I'm willing to bet dollars to donuts that Peter can beat all this. with service and the one dollar shipping- he doesn't need me to advertise, but between that and the Batman: TAS release from La La Land, a Batfan could save some money here.

actually the clip I was hearing was on the order page when filling in all the card info for preorder, not the home page... Maybe it was a taste of the unreleased while ordering?

John FAre you sure you didn't have the main page still open when "Why So Serious?" start playing? I'm not trying to prove you wrong, I am just trying to find some clips as well.

I'll be ordering from Amazon, part of their prime membership because of all the Blu-rays I get. So free 2-Day shipping for me! Woohoo? Though their lack of post-order price guarantee kind of bugs me and the fact they don't ship out in a "first come, first served" fashion...

At least they give you the Pre Order Guarantee. As for their Post (that stopped in September) I never really saw more than 2 bucks on it, it's not like their Post Order thing is big, Pre Order tends to be bigger.
I'm a Prime Member too
Blu Rays in Best Buy and other stores are just insanely priced. Amazon is very much the place for Blu Ray movies!I too wish Amazon shipped in a "first come, first serve" way, you'd think at least Prime Members would get that or something

Lately there's been some huge Post order guarantees. Like Kung Fu Panda and Indiana Jones dropped from $27.99 to $19.99 I believe. Normally they do it within a week after the release date.
But they did make me angry with Wall E, a bunch of people's orders shipped the Friday before the release date. Unfortunately if you had pre ordered in August-October, your orders weren't shipped. But if you ordered the week before (including the Friday they started shipping) your order would ship.

I'm as excited for you are. I was so happy when I realized that they started shipping on Saturday from Amazon. But for me, most others are skeptical about this release. I, for one, am excited because the special edition CD I bought wouldnt work in my computer and I had to download the tracks.Ordering this I hope it works plus those extra tracks should be awesome.

If you mean a regular store like Best Buy...it might be there I don't know, your best bet would probably just to purchase it online.I MAY buy it after the new year if it sticks around for a while. I'm in no rush to buy it as I've got other priorities.

Clever... oh so clever...

Anywho, moving on for the people that actually enjoyed the music and have a purpose in this thread... I don't think the second CD is put together quite as well as the first. I find myself skipping around a bit. As for the remixes... skip them. They're just terrible in every sense of the word.

Clayton, it's interesting how both Neo and gk have absolutely nothing to add to any Zimmer-related thread, and also aren't interested in the material whatsoever, yet continue to post in them (maybe for a look how funny I think I am value?). There's got to be some kind of label for that sorta' behaviour...

Sean...Their called "special people". Just let them play with their blocks in the corner of the room and they'll be fine. To them, real music is the theme they hear when they turn the lever on a Jack in the Box toy.I'm running to Best Buy during lunch to pickup the Blu-Ray and I know it's going to be tempting to pickup this 2 disc set, but the price...that's what gets me. I'm sure the book is worth it and I know I will like the music, but man!

I still say, they should've released this CD with a 2nd CD from Batman Begins as there was a lot of missing music from that film as well. Of course this kind of makes up for that missing music, but still.
As for the Blu-ray... the IMAX stuff is absolutely amazing.

Folks, I just got back from Best Buy to get the BR for TDK - I looked at the 2-disc Soundtrack - THE PACKAGING IS HUGE! It's easily the size of Four CD jewel cases laid together in a "four square" orientation. The packaging is the reason for the price, it seems. Funny how the pictures really didn't do it justice...

Wow! I listened to the 2nd disc a couple of times around and I'd say its the film edit of some of the tracks you get on the first disk. I say "wow!" because of how aggressive these extra songs turn out to be. And sometimes its also schizophrenic.I kinda like it because of what it sounds like and also is included the music where the Joker gets thrown off the building and the ending as well as the beginning of the end credits. The only remixes thats worth anything is Mel Wesson's and Ryeland Allison's because Mel Wesson just adds on a beat to a looped part of the soundtrack and it sounds pretty good and Ryeland Allison's is kinda cool because Allison plays around with it pretty well. Paul van Dyk and Crystal Method remixes just sound to strange.

FYI they're not called "songs". A song has lyrics in them most of the time. For film scores it's called a "cue".If there's one major pet peeve about people and film scores that I have it's when people refer a cue as a "song". ugh..

The Indy one was actually before. As was Kung Fu Pand but then they dropped it to $16.99 after Thanksgiving (what a steal!!!) I still order from there, but it just kind of seems like some weird changes are happening this year.
But back on topic... The g/f saw this at Best Buy and said it's pretty big. She was as surprised as I was that they had it.

She already did (from Amazon and it arrived today). The packaging is about 8.5" tall x 8.25" wide.
When you open the book, you'll notice how lovely the CD's are held in place by those terrible rubber things like LOTR. Mine actually don't even fit on the hubs and it looks as if someone struggled to get them on there in the first place. Then after looking thru the book, you'll notice that there's only pictures from the movie in there. On the last 2 pages, there's the same Christopher Nolan notes that were with the original release and the credits for the score... I personally would've loved to have seen some scoring session photos and read some thoughts from Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard.
As for the artwork on the disc, I think it's cool that the 2nd disc doesn't even say it's the 2nd disc. It matches the first CD exactly (aside from color and obviously the track listing).

Justin: Great analogy, it's perfect for their ilk. The price is hefty, but I like the additional tracks for mixing purposes and, well, they're just excellent and effective pieces. So, Aman doesn't remember what he/she types and Trent's got a hilarious pet peeve! I like.
