...is anyone else picking up an interest in Andrew Lockington?Something in me says I can't wait for this.
Journey to the Center of the Earth may be written off as unoriginal, but it sounds damn good.

Ive said it before, I'll say it again.
Center of the Earth is my favorite of 2008 to date. I don't care how 'unoriginal' it is. What I care about is if I can listen to a CD from start to finish and enjoy it all the way through. And to my ears, this score succeeds after many disappointments in recent years (albeit they had higher expectations).
I have no idea what to expect of the score you linked to, thoug. is there any sound clips up?posted 10-23-2008 12:31 AM PT (US)

I like the clips..though TJ you are right, it sounds pretty..generic but still enjoyable. The second clip sounds like Gregson-Williams'Narnia..maybe it's just me.

So I guess I'm the only here who actually watched City of Ember? Well I enjoyed it. Great premise. And I liked the score too. I found it genuinely touching in portions. The main theme has a gentle, lightness of touch, combined with an appropriate sense of foreboding that worked well dramatically. However, the typical grand finale didn't do much for me. Was a wee bit forced. Anyway, I'll be keeping an eye out for this Andrew Lockington fellow, and am thinking of picking up the album.

Can we limit these to Brian/Jeron posts and stupid day?

Woah there...I had nothing to do with this! Yet somehow I get roped in anyway. Frak!
And nor did Jeron, he's taking a nap

lol Stargate.Al, I didn't realize the movie was now playing. For me, it's only "now playing" when it's on DVD and showing at home... so, uhhh, yeah. Finger on the pulse.

I haven't heard Journey to the Center of the Earth. Didn't catch that one in theaters. Don't think I'll be catching it on DVD either. But I am curious about the score now.

I saw the movie too and really enjoyed it. The acting is wonderful especially from the young actors and Bill Murray was a lot of fun to watch as well. I thought the music was great and made me take notice of Andrew Lockington who I think has a great future ahead of him. Go see the film if you can and order the CD from Peter. You'll be glad you did :-)
