Just got back from a press screening of this. I found the film very enjoyable and nicely done. The score was quite predictable - lush, pleasant, pastoral and not too obtrusive, with a couple of standout points. I noticed how a few pieces started off sounding like Rachel Portman, and sue enough when I sat through the end credits I saw that she composed the score.

The score release on Lakeshore features about 30 minutes of Portman's score. The primary music is pretty standard stuff stylistically but it gets a bit stronger as the music plays out. It's just good to hear a score written by someone who understands string writing and who eschews ambient designs to establish tension. You are right though, it is not too far from previous music by the composer.
