I would like some input from you people out there. Is the Dark Knight good? Or should I buy something else??

Well I'd say no, since I prefer more melody over atmosphere. Theres some highlights, but most of it is just noise.

So yeah buy something else, like
I am Legend and King Arthur.

How exactly can you compare Dark Knight to 'something else'?

If something else is, say, ET, then I'd say a resounding No! (with echo). But if something else is, for example, The Prestige, I'd give two thumbs up and yell Yes!

I would say if you enjoyed Batman Begins, then yes, buy it. If you didn't like Batman Begins, then no.

Check out Erik's Cinematic Sounds show: http://www.geocities.com/cinematicsound/

He gives some generous previews of the latest scores including The Dark Knight.

I liked Batman Begins quite a bit, Dark Knight is terrible compared to it. It's far less melodic.

Are you kidding me? Have you heard Batman Begins on CD? I seem to remember skipping over tracks 5-9 every time I listened to it, and then skipping track 11 (or was it the first half of 12... can't remember) as well. The Dark Knight is far superior in every way.

Yes I've heard it on CD. I have the CD. Never bothered to buy Dark Knight, didn't like it in the film and didn't like it as a standalone listen either. Actually, I think Transformers is a better sequel score to Begins as far as making use of the Begins theme, LOL

Now, saying Dark Knight is just noise isn't fair. It is far more melodic than Batman Begins, and far more listenable; the problem is just that it's boring and uninspired.

    Get Wall-E instead. For instance.

I just don't know how anyone can say that after listening to both albums.

How would you know? You don't have The Dark Knight album.

I did get Wall*E, X Files: I Want to Believe, and Kung Fu Panda. I put repeat on "The Surgery" (Xfiles), and "Oogway Ascends" (KFP)

Isn't The Surgery a great track? Not something you would really expect from The X-Files.

You said it Dinko . . . these are all the worst kinds of people. If any of you do any of these highly illegal and immoral things, then may God have mercy on your bowl.

I'm a bit surprised at how some posts in this thread are FSM-like. I didn't think people pulled that crap here.

Well, Sheila, we have a tendency to go off topic in nearly every thread.

I blame Peter for not tightening the leash on his dirty dogs.
