Oh yeah, they were in the store at 6:16pm... and I've just about sold my qty too.

I guess I should just put the $599.99 price tag on Invaders and be done with it?

Invaders is sold out, has been since the wee hours of the morning. I hope I saved a copy for myself.... lol.

Please write to Intrada and asked them kindly to increase their runs in the future. Having titles sell out overnight has happened one too many times for it to be an "error on judgment" when randomly guessing demand for a product.

This may sound weird, but because Intrada underestimated demand, my customer service takes a hit. There are plenty of customers who like to buy their stuff in the MM store because of the shipping deal, but when they can't do it anymore because of lack of availability, there can be some frustration.

We may want to suggest that these labels do what other collecting industries have done: announce a title, take pre-orders for a month or so (not just one night), and THEN print a sufficient number of copies to cover, plus a little over. This way, people have a chance not to miss it, and if they do, it's their own fault. You can't blame people for missing out on a title because it was only available for 7 hours, especially when 8 of those are when you should be sleeping!

Anyway... Invaders has been a great success, and a great frustration. But there's no need to get negative. Let's be constructive!

P.S. I hope you like the Invaders score. It's quite... unlistenable.

I agree , I don't know why everything has to be top secret until after the fact.

Anyone want to revive that thread about whether the limited edition game is over?

I must've watched "Invaders from Mars" twenty times when I was little (didn't see the 1953 version until about two years after I saw the 1985). The music has always stuck with me, especially the gorgeous "family" theme from the orchestral portion of Young's score.

The history of how many scores this had is interesting (Young's initial synth score was largely rejected, then he wrote and recorded the lush orchestral material, then another composer replaced most of Young's leftover synth score).

I know Young re-recorded (and re-arranged) his rejected synth score in the early nineties, which was released, and I always wondered where the orchestral stuff was and when it'd see the light of day. It's great to see it's out there, and it does sound great. Too bad it sold out so fast, though.

Isn't INVADERS an MGM title? Perhaps it'll show up on iTunes like other MGM titles have recently.

Invaders From Mars was the first time I ordered here at Moviemusic.com; the CD was already sold out at Intrada when I wanted to order it there. My CD arrived today, so I say "thank you". Smooth shopping experience, would definitely do it again and give a "thumbs up".
