This thread has long been needed. Please make contributions as needed, and refer those who may need the help of this thread, when needed.

    - Craig Armstrong is scoring The Incredible Hulk.
    - There is only 1 version of The Incredible Hulk soundtrack, and it is a 2-CD set.
    - You can order The Incredible Hulk from here and here. It is touted as an Amazon.com exclusive.
    - The Dark Knight soundtrack is coming out in 4 whoppin' editions.
    - None of the various editions of The Dark Knight have any more music than the other.
    - The Dark Knight score was written by Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard.
    - Ryan Keaveney is indeed a good guy and nice fellow but can oftimes come across as a sarcastic asstard. It's his sense of humor. Such is the way of the world.
    - Love yourself first and then you will discover the path to loving others.
    - Jerry Goldsmith kicks everyone's ass, even now. Game over.

Jeron, you should have put some kind of disclaimer to the user who constantly posts their thoughts on a score without checking to see if there's threads already devoted to it: Last one was Indiana Jones, remember? The person wrote something like "Am I the first person to get this score? And here's what I think of it in one long paragraph..." When there was something like 3 or 4 threads already devoted to Indy.

Thanks, Jeron. I've printed this thread and will pin it to my shirt so I don't forget!

Anyone want to go in on HULK with me? We each get one disc. I get disc 2!

    And I'll add:

This is the site for that Red Baron* movie: http://www.redbaron-themovie.com/index_en.html .

    * I believe that this film is a sequel to either It's Not Delivery, It's DiGornio or What Do You Want on Your Tombstone?.

Amen. I miss the anticipation of each of Jerry's new scores... huge events!

Luckily, Goldsmith scores are still released somewhat regularly. Baby was a huge surprise for me personally.

Cool. Nicely informative and factual... until that last item. Now why'd ya have to go and destroy a perfectly good list like that?

(Edit: well, maybe the last two, but the final one stood out.)

So far, I see two informative posts in a thread consisting of eight (now nine)...

    Your's certainly didn't help either.

(In fact, if you want to argue, mine would be among the more informative, mentioning regular releases of Goldsmith scores... but whatever pleases you)

    Marian.

There's nothing in Jeron's original post that said we had to make informative posts.

I agree with everything you say, except you made a mistake.
Gotta substitute Jerry Goldsmith with "John Williams" and then you're ok.
    LOL!

I think we've all seen by now with Delta Force and Invasion USA that Chuck Norris kicks everyone's ass, even in the soundtrack community.

    LOL!

Actually, one whould replace it with Ennio Morricone.

Let's battle! Who's the greatest film composer to hold a baton?!

He says Goldsmith. The other says Williams. But the Maestro Morricone always wins. Don't believe me? Go to Hell!

I don't think he ruined the thread. Just because you don't like Jerry Goldsmith's music doesn't mean others don't.

It's not that I don't like his music (though you're right; I usually don't). It's simply that one can not say that any composer is better than all others if they are purporting to be spreading "information" - factual material (at least if they intend on being the least bit credible).

Heck... I'm of the (highly probable) opinion that Dmitri Shostakovich is a "better" composer than both John Williams and Jerry Goldsmith, but would I say such? No, because it cannot be proved, and would therefore correctly paint me as a pretentious, biased fool.

And yes, I know that it was (partially) tongue-in-cheek in the first place, but then again so was my post, and everyone is hopping on me.

Well then, to settle this, I'll add this little "You Should Know It, And If You Don't . . .":

-Every composer is better than the other's for different reasons. Each composer has their own voice and style (aside from the lesser-Zimmer lackeys, i.e. Badelt, Djawadi, and Zanelli, etc.). Goldsmith and Shostakovich are VERY different composers, and for good reason. Neither is better than the other, but each has their own strong fanbase. Even composers who don't usually deliver strong material as often as "the Masters" (you know who they are), eventually hit a home run or two (I'm thinking of Isham's The Black Dahlia and JNH's Shyamalan scores for recent efforts).
