Nice to see Intrada was able to release CROSS CREEK, one of Rosenman's most lovely scores.

Cool for those who want to get it. I'll end up passing these ones up.

I find it pretty ridiculous you can't even discuss Intrada's new releases on FSM's forum. At least that's the impression I'm getting.

No. What Intrada asked was that people keep the "clue situation" over at their discussion board because it was getting out of hand at FSM.

So they set up a special forum at their site for discussions of clues prior to release. Apparently this didn't work as someone immediately spoiled that for those who wished Intrada to keep that part of the pre-release fun up.

Feel free to discuss now that they are announced.

    James

People will talk about this stuff anyway, surely. FSM's semi-retired onetime-trigger-happy moderator doesn't seem likely to swing back into action over such a small point.

Weird. Is it just me, or is there more "discussion" these days about guessing what's going to be released, as opposed to discussing the merits of something once it is released?

And now Intrada's trying to control these guessing "discussions"? That seems so weird, as Franzie said, people will talk about this wherever, as long as clues are revealed.

I would say that if you want to control the guessing, don't dish out the clues. Reading flame wars later on because so-and-so was right and someone else was wrong is pretty worthless.

Unrelated, sort of: I recently read a few of Doug Fake's columns at Intrada, and sadly, it's too bad he's so down on the current world of soundtrack collecting. He's releasing some of the best stuff these days, yet he yearns for a time when he could wander into stores and thumb through LPs or whatever. Which to me begs the question, if it were so important, why did he close the Intrada storefront? His store was in a position to "give" that experience to someone else today... but now it's impossible.

The answer should be obvious (they even closed their doors before the Internet spelled doom on major music retail storefronts). BUT, we are in these times, so let's look at the good things that are happening now as opposed to all the negativity that is commented on... negativity is everywhere.

The real adventure, though, is looking for the good out there. I think a lot of discussions here are more along the lines of finding good than they are spewing negativity. This is why I don't get sick of reading this forum every day... so thanks guys, my compliments!

For example, look what's happened with S.O.P.... most people passed it up, but someone found some good... another one spotted the good, and after a few days, a few more people are thinking about giving it a try. It sure is against the grain, though, but that's part of the adventure.
