There's nothing more awesome than receiving a package in the mail from Mr. Joel Goldsmith himself..well, his name was on the return label. Gave the CD a first run and I must say, I think I enjoyed it even more than the Ark of Truth. Actually, I'm not even sure I can compare them; the Ark is great and I enjoy the motifs Goldsmith developed for the whole Ori plot. But for Continuum, it sounds to me like Goldsmith went back to some of his roots as there is some of the early Arnold influenced themes woven in. What's better though is that Goldsmith did not use this too heavily so the sound he has developed throughout the Stargate franchise was definitely evident.

So, all in all, a great score featuring the pinnacle of Goldsmith's musical development throughout Stargate, and some icing on the top by including some of Arnold's themes.

edit: there's a lot of great action tracks in the 2nd half of this Continuum CD, and the final track starts with a fantastic variation of the Arnold movie theme (and segues into what I presume is Ba'al's theme)

I think my preference for Ark of Truth might just have to do with that awesome Ori theme, but this is a great CD that I wouldn't want to be without.

But they're both awesome and I wouldn't be without either CD. I hope we get some more CDs from SG-1. <HR size=1></BLOCKQUOTE>

Oh okay about you liking the Ark Of Truth by a smidge. I agree that hope that we get more music from SG-1.

BTW that piece that I was talking about the Jaffa killing the Achilles crew is on the OST, track 6. If you want to put the score in order there's some extensive editing required. I am gonna buy the DVD when I get paid and rip the rest of the music via rear channels and make my own complete version. Ya there will be some sfx but that won't bother me. This will be one of very few scores that I will have that has sfx.
