Matilda has been a long time request by me.

Not for me . . .Besides, I knew these weeks ago, after I had a nice lunch with Bob Townson. He's quite charming and Sean will tell you he's handsome.

Well its good in a way that there are'nt any "absolute must haves" because, extra money iss being put on the (S)-Blue Box.

Yeah, I dig the Newman, Conti, and North. Definitely gonna grab those. I'm a huge Bernstein fan so that's almost a must-have as well, though I've never heard them before... so not sure how crazy I'll be. Hmmmmm. Blue Box at my lunch. What to do... what to do...

I thought this one was never going to happen. Frankly this release is BETTER than the super box in my opinion, because the former north and osuth disc (re-recording) was so short and missing so much great music!

If they can do that for North and South, they can do it for The Right Stuff.

If Viva Zapata hangs around for a few months I might buy it, but none of these titles are going to make me bust my soundtrack budget.

I echo JL's sentiments. I'll likely buy Zapata, sooner or later.

It's one of the reasons why these titles don't interest me. I think North and South is one of Conti's least memorable.
Stuff, on the other hand . . .

None sold out yet? Surely this is a sign we're long past the hysteria of limited editions... goodness.
I am excited about the Viva Zapata, but every edition of the film I ever say had really bad quality sound. The original performance though, through all the mustard, is still the best I've heard.posted 02-25-2008 04:30 PM PT (US)

Matilda is the only one that interests me in this set. Peter I emailed you about that.

I think there is fatigue over all the special/limited editions that have literally flooded the market in the past few months, which is why this last batch of VCL releases haven't sold out yet. People just dropped a crapload of moolah on the Blue Box, and let's not forget Intrada's blitz of releases at the end of the year which I am sure many people are still paying off.As with all the club releases, though, I find some knee-jerk reaction impulse and buy them all. I have yet to be truly disappointed....

That is very true on that one. After Matilda and the Superman set I can't buy any more CD's for a while. Hopefully it'll be a while before another company like Intrada comes out with a special release.

I haven't got the Blue Box, and MATILDA isn't really my cup of tea. But the North score and the Conti score will be mine, as for the Bernstein, I'll wait to hear what more eager purchasers have to say.

The only one of this bunch is the North one for me. I like North and South but not enough to spend that much on i t. LOL>I will get the North eventually though. I love the old version of Viva Zapata on the FMC LP/CD and the original. Didnt like the Varese re-recording that Goldsmith conducted a few years back except for that one piece at the first "prologue" or whatever it was. That cue was good.

Oh I forgot to mention, that club release of Wonderful Country was great. All those extra cues and the sequencing and sound was super. J. That is a great score.
