Yes I did. I wasn't sure you made it. LOL. Makes a lot more sense to me now. Why did you have to remove your video?

Jeron you did a good job at the music. I agree I definitely like that better than the hacked up job of the offical one.

BTW I thought Williams was writing music for the trailer? Or is it just the offical trailer he's doing music for?

Yes. The released teaser definitely needed to be scored with William's Indy music the whole way through. Jeron's work proves this.

Well, mine's pretty hacked up, I just did a better job covering up the edits.

As far as Williams writing music for the official full length trailer... gosh, I hope so! That'd be sick.

I got a BIG "Copyright Infringement" email from YouTude and AOL about the video and basically my only option was to remove it. Showed it to all my mates tonight and they loved it, thought it was hilarious, said I should put it on YouTube, oh well.

Yeah, I got that too, but I disputed it, saying that my content was different than the original, that I replaced the audio track with just music, and that all of it was a not-for-profit demonstration. I also threw out the freedom of speech line. They decided to let me keep it up for now.

I think putting Williams' Indy music in the place of Tyler's corrupts the intent of the first part of the trailer. There, I said it!

IMO, Spielberg and Co. were spot on perfect with the musical choices for this teaser. As I said before, it's a bait and switch... and an absolutely brilliant one. (But I don't really care for what I've heard of Tyler's work as standalone listening... sorry.)

Nah, Neo, you're outta your frakkin' mind. LOL. The moment anyone sees the Paramount logo and the LucasFilm logo in sepia tones superimposed on a map, you KNOW it's Indiana Jones. There's no bait-and-switch going on here. It was just a poor decision. As I will continue to say, please treat Indiana Jones with reverence. Music should fall in line w/ that, and it's awfully interesting (and coincidental (or not??)) that the Holy Grail theme hit the marks just right. I think that's what they had in there originally.

Goodness gracious, you people are hilarious! You all think that everyone in the world is as knowledgeable and familiar with Indiana Jones as you are. You need to get some objectivity going on.

Perhaps it's also because I just don't care about Indiana Jones that I can see what you all can't. I'm standing out here beyond the fog of fandom and giving you the perspective of someone who isn't looking forward to or excited about this movie or score, but simply evaluating it for what it is.

That could also be precisely the reason none of you will pay attention to what I say -- whatever.

What's more - it robs the trailer (a completely uncommercial effort) of its artistic INTEGRITY!!!!! OMG!!! OWQ!!!

The artistic integrity of a teaser trailer.

    Good god.

92 messages debating music in a teaser trailer. Riot.

I was simply hoping to see if Spielberg has remembered how to make a "fun" movie and if Ford can pull it off. I got the answers I was looking for and look forward to the trailer and the film.

    Enough for me.

I look forward to the inevitable Moviemusic.com crusade against Geroge Lucas for destroying the sanctity of Indiana Jones after the movie is released.

My comment was aimed at everyone silly enough to bother with criticism of a teaser trailer... not you good Franz.

This thread is about the teaser, Quill. If you don't wanna read the thoughts on people "silly enough to bother with criticism of a teaser trailer", this is the wrong thread to be in.

Not if you are expecting to discuss the visual content...not tracked in music which plagues most teasers and trailers.

From a visual perspective I liked what I saw, and could truly care less about the editing and choice of music, which has 100% zero bearing on the final product.

Weak sauce. Watch Jeron's re-edit of the music and than write what you just wrote.

I did watch it Sean...I give Jeron credit (as always) for his solid work on trailers. Doesn't change anything though...I simply don't care about teaser music edits.

    Jeron...you're right, Moviemusic.com...not teasertrailermusic.com.

I have nothing but high hopes for Spielberg to return to entertaining form and Williams to deliver an excellent score. Nothing in this teaser has been worth the scorn, nor has it degraded my hopes for the film.

Not much else to say...no keep on chewing..if you like.

Let me make one thing clear... Quill, I'm not disputing the quality of the trailer; everything in it was fine, with the exception of how I would have done the music. Nothing wrong in critiquing that.

The way you talk, it's as if creating a teaser trailer isn't filmmaking in and of itself. It is most certainly a form of filmmaking and I think it's fair that we comment on the appropriate or inappropriate use of music in trailers. It's something people have been doing for ages. Why else would folks have demanded to have a recording of Goldsmith's music for the Judge Dredd trailer, also used in the Lost in Space trailer? What about how much many of us enjoyed the E.S. Posthumus album when that came out, which had consequently been used in countless trailers.

I think it's all very relevant.

I too also look forward to Indy 4 - the trailer has me very excited.

Well, geesh. Sean, I appreciate the props, I never claimed that my music edit was superior by all measures. I like it, it's how I would have done it, doesn't mean that Spielberg and Lucas didn't have a very similar edit, argued about it for a month, and ended up shipping the version w/ the Brian Tyler bait 'n switch. Who knows?

I give YOU a thumbs down for giving ME a thumbs down.

    Fair enough...I concede.

On that note...I love any trailer that uses the Requiem for a Dream remix music...the long, international trailer for Sunshine being the prime example (and Two Towers.)
