Jeron, I'd love to collaborate on a review of this one with you, this is the music of our childhood. My entire love of film music was founded on vinyl copies of Star Trek: The Motion Picture and Superman II (followed shortly by Superman: The Movie). I can still remember my toy record player needle playing over the laser etched superman shields pointing outward from the hgub like a star.

Cool, Jeron, I'm all over it. E-mail me at the brainchild address, if you still have it.ONly downside to starting this isthat the postman tried to deliver it today but left a notice for it and didn't drop it off. I'm a little confused by that. Hopefully, it'll be deposited tomorrow and we can start the party!

Ehm, Widescreen and Jeron: Music/Films of your childhood? Now, I do remember going to the original Superman in Rastatt/Germany in 1978. Were you guys even on this planet then?
Hahahaha.
Dunno why I laughed, but, kinda funny. Looking forward to your review.Scott

Okay, Jeron, got it - backed it up with HQ mp3 copies and I'm halfway though listening the expanded Superman II. Contact me by e-mail and we'll work this thing up.Initially, I have to say that quite frankly this is hands-down the best box set I have ever purchased; it rivals the RCA Victor Special Editions of the Star Wars films. I'm listening through the cues in Superman II and III and the memories of the vinyl copies just come flowing back....

Got mine today as well.
First things first:
Jeron, thanks for making me aware of this. Over the years you have proven yourself to be the most loyal and considering friend anyone could wish for. I thank God for you.
Peter, it took a few years, but finally i have been able to order something from you and I knew I would not be dissapointed. It is amazing how one man can make a difference. You have created this site now what seems like eons ago, but through your determination and vision a whole community has been brought together; for that we can't thank you enough. Your fast and professional handeling of this blue box (rumors and all) is a testimony to your passion and the respect you have for everyone here. I thank God for you as well.
I am listening to Superman IV, for that is the score I have been waiting for since the film came out. I have no words to describe the emotions that are swelling up from just listening to this fabulous scores, so I won't try.
I am not on here much, again, for lack of time, but man, am I glad to be still part of this community.
You guys rock!Scott

I'd almost completely forgotten how much I like the up-tempo arrangement for the Main Theme that begins SUPERMAN II. *I* have never liked that movie as much as everyone else seems to - far too goofy/joking for my taste - and had thrown out the pleasing Thorne stuff with the bathwater. It's all in a brighter key, probably to suit that jokiness that I don't like, but musically I dig it.Thanks, PK.

Ok I'm getting worried now. Mine was shipped a week ago today and still not got it, even with paying for priority air mail.Anyone else in the UK still not got their copy? Get the feeling the problem is at this end. Not liking the wait!!

Thanks for the comments, guys... especially Scott. Glad you've finally found something to order from the store after 8 years!!!alan_manc, without customs inspections here and there, the Post Office on this side estimates Global Priority Mail takes 6 to 10 days to arrive, so we're just at the early part of the delivery estimate. The Express mail is usually delivered within 4 days or so, not the Priority. But yes, here's to hoping customs is not holding it up! Thanks for your patience,

The Blue Box is fantastic! I received it today, just listening to the first cd. It sounds great, almost blowing out my windows with is strong dynamic sound. The book itself looks fine, the pages are in place, I'll be very careful reading it and maybe then I won't have to request a new one.

Hi Peter. Mail over here can be verrrrry slow at times especially, it seems, in Manchester. Good old Royal Mail!Just to clarify, my last post was in no way putting in to question the service here. I continue to be impressed.
Still at the early stages of the estimate? Ouch, this wait is painful enough as it is! lol

I ordered the Blue Blox by adding myself as a regular costumer. So, as soon as I get financially a little better, more will be bought. You have priority. Then again, I haven't bought anything from anyone eiter, so...Later,

I love it. Got it a couple days ago. I had computer problems so I had to listen to it in the car only. I can't get past the Superman II disc. It's the only one so far that I have listened to. I'm addicted. It's such a joy to finally have this music. I love the variations on the main theme and the love theme, the percussive rolls for the enemy and the action music. It all sounds so good. A great investment. Thanks again, Pete."Kneel before the BLUE BOX and swear eternal loyalty."

After a very long and painful wait, I finally got my set 2 days ago. I'd like to publicly thank Peter for his excellent customer service and his assistance over the past week or so. Very refreshing to deal with someone that actually seems to care for his customers! As for the set, I cant really say anything that hasn't been said already. It's excellent and I wish more sets like this and the LOTR: CR sets were released! *cough*Lucasfilm*cough*
The real surprise for me was Superman IV. I always thought the score sounded awful in the film itself and I remember the Superman Returns FSM podcast in which they said the IV score was poorly performed and produced. My expectations were not high for it and so it was all the more surprising when this emerged as the real gem of the set! Sound quality and the music itself is excellent!
All in all, I'd say the set is a true triumph and a credit to all involved. Just glad I finally have my mucky paws on it! :P
P.S - My booklet arrived in perfect condition but on reading it, the seams on a couple of pages started to crack, revealing the binding. Hope it doesn't get any worse!

I think that he's referring to Peter's stock...Probably just a typical delay in USPS mail, or a delay in SAE getting MM the product..
