Ladies and gentlemen, now this is how you create a rousing teaser trailer!Note the excellent use of Hans Zimmer's and James Newton Howard's score, note the wonderful atmosphere, note the impeccible Joker, as performed by Heath Ledger. Hopefully, we'll finally get the RIGHT character on the big screen. Next summer is going to kick all kinds of un-holy ass.
Now, Lucas and Spielberg, where is that damn Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull teaser. Why so late? You're losing the box office bid.

Ok nuts, you have redeemed yourself from that horrendous Speed Racer stunt you pulled.
I can't wait to see the next Batman.. it's the film I'm anticipating most for 2008.

And truly terrifying. Looks like Batman has a worthy adversary this time around.

Yeah, Andrew, stop pulling that Speed Racer s.h.i.t.! Anyway, Dark Knight looks awesome, especially after that 6-minute+ opening sequence!!! Hopefully, after At World's End, Zimmer will take on this film all his own, considering the lack of constructive input from James Newton Howard. Andrew, I know you agree.

HOORAY FOR MONO!!! Sorry, had to say it... Anywho, I am super excited for this movie. I love how this trailer really didn't show you too much of anything, not even the action. You see a building blow up, a truck flip over and that's about it. And Heath Ledger actually looks creepy! I was not expecting that at all. As for James Newton Howards contribution, does anyone know who wrote what on Batman Begins? I've actually been pretty curious about that for a while.Next trailer I am looking forward to... Indiana Jones in Febuary (that will supposedly be on Spiderwick).

February for Indy? Lame, lame, lame, lame, lame Paramount! And Clayton, just listen to Batman Begins, you should be able to easily decipher who wrote what. But for a more telling answer, Zimmer composed the action sequences (including the main motif), while Howard focused on the film's drama.

I guess originally the teaser was supposed to come out November/December but for some reason didn't. I think I Am Legend would've been an awesome movie to premier it on. That way not only would you have a Dark Knight trailer, but a freaken Indy one too.
As for Batman Begins, I kinda figured it was written like that. The only really good dramatic cue I liked was the final one. But other than that, the softer parts (while I normally love Newton Howard's stuff) just seemed to be lacking and simplistic.

Clayton, Paramount is owned by Viacom and Warner Bros. is owned by Time Warner and AOL. A trailer for Indy IV on I Am Legend is about as likely as The Golden Compass making even on its profits. In other words, nil.
But Paramount does have Cloverfield hitting in Janurary. Why not pull a three-for-all and premier the Iron Man trailer alongside a Incredible Hulk teaser and an Indy IV teaser. It's a shame I don't work for Paramount's marketing. Think of how many fans they would get into the cinemas for that overhyped, soon-to-be-mess just to see those THREE trailers attacehed (especially if they weren't available online until late Sunday, like Warner did with The Dark Knight.
If anyone from Paramount or Viacom is reading this, my email address links on this post. Send away. I'll tell you if your Indy IV teaser is any good.

I know... except the WB being owned by AOL, I thought AOL has no part of WB anymore for some reason and it's just Time Warner again... and I forgot about Cloverfield. I was thinking Paramount didn't have anything big coming until next year. But Cloverfield would be smart for them to put it on... unless they think the movie will tank for some reason. And they seem dumb enough to have thoughts like that so I wouldn't put it past them. Maybe they'll just wait for Iron Man... wether that's before or after Indy, I don't know (I think it might be after) but it seems like a move from them.

If they still plan on Indy IV being the first film out in the summer, they better do something quick. That Drew Struzan poster is only good for so much.I guess it's The Spiderwick Chronicles or bust, eh?

You know, Andrew, I agree: Personally, at this point in time, all I need to see is the hat on a table and the "Raiders March" playing and have the title come up; that'd do it! I don't even need to see any actual footage, I just need to see that this film is coming together and that Spielberg isn't moonlighting on that AWFUL, AWFUL next film of his, Lamerham Lincoln. I was outraged that he was casting that waste-of-time-pink-sock while in the middle of shooting Indy 4.Christopher Nolan has it right with Dark Knight... not only releasing a knock-out trailer, but also the explosive first 6 minutes of the film! Outstanding. Spielberg should take note, or no he shouldn't because he should know better by now about how these things go about.
And J. J. Abrams putting together a trailer for Star Trek before Cloverfield is outstanding! Almost a whole year before the actual film is released.
