Call me crazy, but I didn't even know that this ham-fest had been green lit. I guess Brendan Fraiser's pining for Crash 2: Racism Harder fell through and all he had to fall back on was a Mummy three-quel from the director of xXx (!!!).

Well, as long as Rob Cohen's best composer of choice, BT, signs up I'm there with my autographed score in hand.

Was anyone else aware of this?

Yup, it's old news to me. And if I'm not mistaken Randy Edelman's already confirmed for the score.

Can't say I'm all that upset about it one way or the other. Anything that keeps Rob Cohen too busy to ruin something I actually care about is probably a good thing.

Randy Edelman?! I guess that makes sense considering he scored Dragonheart and - if I'm not mistaken - that Bruce Lee "biopic" that Cohen ruined, er, helmed.

Still, BT can do no wrong; haven't you heard [i]Stealth[i]?

This things been green-lit for quite sometime now, hasn't it? I remember reading about Rachel Weis (did I spell that right?) not wanting to do it so they had to find a replacement. THIS FILM'S GONNA ROCK!!! HARD!!!

Green lit, it's already been in production for weeks, in Montreal.

Here's Rob's blog that he wrote while working on the movie. In it he talks about Edelman and the type of score he will be recording.

We'll see... I'll be willing to give this one a shot. Not sure about Randy Edelman for a Mummy score, but it could be alright; I do like the man's work, this is the kind of flamboyant adventure genre he hasn't visited in quite awhile (if ever)...

    Keeping fingers crossed.

Rob Cohen's blog is funny; he seems down-to-earth and sounds like they're having a good time making this film. According to him however it is a Mummy franchise reboot, so whatever that means, Mr. Cohen.
