I'm very interested in the movie.

I know that Sondheim is credited for the music and lyrics which makes since because he did the original state musical.

I'm just a bit curious if Elfman had anything to do with the movie.

No Elfman isn't involved; I'm also very surprised tha Sondheim hasn't had his named removed. He was furious when this thing was kicking up in production. Burton would have been perfect for this material when he has a sense of humor. But today's artistically-jaded Burton might "f" this one up.

I'm hoping for the best though; I want nothing more than a Sondheim musical to succeed on the screen. That way we can get Assassins!

I've heard that Sondheim was involved and had script control and all that good stuff. IMDB rumor has it that he approved Burton's vision for the silver screen...

Either way, I'm pumped for it.

Any reason in particular Elfman wasn't involved? Creative differences or was this really just a project that didn't require an Elfman contribution? Yeah, definitely odd seeing a Burton flick w/o an Elfman score. Has hell frozen over?

Ed Wood?! Best Burton film? Best score in a Burton film?

    I rest my case, Ju-On.

Brian, sit down before you fall down. You've gone insane. It's all that silly Terminal music you've been exposing yourself to! You know it can give you ear cancer, don't you?

Well actually if you listen to the thematic notation in the trailer then in some of the music from the offical site, they are very much from the same cloth

Um... Elfman isn't involved because there's no need for additional score. This is a Sondheim musical and it's wall-to-wall singing (with occasional dialogue), and the songs were written nearly thirty years ago.

I think that this musical is a true work of genius (I don't say that lightly), and I'm hoping Burton does it proud.

It's hard to trust someone with that kind of name in this day in age.
