    METALSTORM: THE DESTRUCTION OF JARED-SYN

Label: Intrada Special Collection Volume 53
    Date: 1983
    Tracks: 20

World premiere of exciting original soundtrack for Charles Band sci-fi opus starring Jeffrey Byron, Tim Thomerson, Kelly Preston. Richard Band hits big-time when Universal provides budget for large orchestra, engages veteran conductor Shirley Walker, then records for 3 days at Warner Bros. facilities with ace engineer Robert Fernandez. Resulting score is packed with rousing action cues, intense battle music plus more. Band anchors with heroic major-key French horn theme over dynamic rhythms in low brass, basses. Rhythmic energy remains keynote throughout. Complete hour-long score presented in brilliant stereo from actual multi-track session masters stored in Universal vaults. Enthusiastic liner notes from Daniel Schweiger plus generous array of color stills completes exciting package. Richard Band's finest hour! Shirley Walker conducts. Yeah..... What a product description from Intrada. I am now furious this didn't win the Oscar in '83! Sounds like the best score of the 80s....

I'm really getting into Richard Band's work lately (woefully underappreciated, he is); but I've never even heard of this! And I know of most of Charles Band's films! I'm sad.

Doug just said in the Intrada forum that this one's down to the last 250. Those of you who have it -- how is it? Are you furious it didn't win the Oscar in 83?

well I ordered one (along with INVASION USA) based on the low quantity alerts. The clips are good. These low quantities are getting pretty out of control. Meh.

If i didn't have a job now and some dispoasble income, I'd probably be passing on this stuff though. Still, I'm glad I get the chance to hear it.
